I think the headline’s a little misleading though. The guy was British and the woman was his daughter.

That would be enough to convince me to never step foot in Texas again.

      One star state.

No further evidence needed to convince me to never set foot in the US.

Title should say “the grand jury”, which is different from just “jury”. The former is involved in choosing whether or not to indict, and the latter is involved in choosing whether or not to convict. (AFAIK, IANAL)

I was served grand jury duty at one time and my boss got me out of it. It’s even worse than regular duty based on the amount of time required to serve. If I recall, grand jury duty is required for 8-12 weeks and serves multiple cases because of that differentiation. Regular jury duty could go on that long too depending on the case, but your most likely serving for much less time than 2-4 months.

My mother was on a grand jury in NJ. It was every Tuesday and Thursday all day, plus 1.5 hour commute each way.

She effectively lost her job over it. No, the company didn’t say that but she had the same responsibilities to accomplish in 24 hours vs 40 hours before and they fired her for “poor work performance” because she was unable to complete them.

I think she got paid $12 a day to serve on the jury which didn’t even cover gas and she had to pay $5 a day to park. Technically she didn’t have to pay for parking as she could park on the street and pay a meter but the meter had to be repaid every 2 hours and they only got a 1 hour break for lunch around the 4 hour mark.

She didn’t discuss any of the cases with me but I know there were multiple cases of csam and more than one case of fathers raping their children. The evidence was mostly photos and videos which the jury had to watch.

Is this really that different from an old fashioned lynching then?

It sounds like is basically is a punching

Means that murdering someone for talking bad about dear leader in some parts of the US is defacto legal

So a specific law that is written for all citizens is only being applied if you belong to a specific party? That is complete societal collapse! General strike. Hit them in the pocketbook. We are nothing more than subscription fees to these greedy monsters.
