- Comment on Duolingo launches 148 new courses as it shifts to AI-first, replacing workers with AI 1 day ago:
They’ve been emailing me daily since I began the account deletion progress. Of course it’s one of those crappy “it takes 7 days just because, and if you log back in, we restart the timer!”.
For comparison I recently deleted my NordVPN account and it was instant. - Comment on HBO Boss Insists 'Harry Potter' Show Will Not Contain J.K. Rowling's Anti-Trans Views 1 day ago:
They’ll still give millions of dollars though.

Reminds me a bit of the bagworm moth.
- Comment on Anon missed /pol/ 4 days ago:
If that’s what the history books will show, that USA crumbled because a horndog had her intern blow him, then I can’t wait to read it.
- Comment on Accessibility in Science 5 days ago:
The title has been altered a bit for the clip shown in the picture, but the clip ends pretty hilariously imo.
- Comment on boys will be boys 5 days ago:
If you over think this one it could possibly be seen as a trans joke.
- Comment on Anon missed /pol/ 5 days ago:
I find it hilarious that Clinton got impeached in 1998 for getting a blowjob (and votes were 50/50!) when compared to this shit show and nobody has even thought of doing anything to stop it.

At least that makes it easier to spot the US brands and avoid them then.

*Raises American prices

I definitely enjoyed it when it was releasing back in the day, but Graham Linehan has made it kind of hard to enjoy Father Ted and The IT Crowd after knowing he’s a full blown bigot.
- Comment on Anon has his way 1 week ago:
The absurdity made it funny, well done.
- Comment on ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Was Denied 2-Hour Finale Movie, Says Sonequa Martin-Green 1 week ago:
That’s a shame. Not that I’m into Discovery at all, but the best series finales are always double-episodes. I quite literally just watched DS9’s finale earlier today, and it would’ve felt way too rushed if it had just been a regular episode.

- Comment on Chinese people flood TikTok with videos urging Americans to buy direct amid Trump tariffs 2 weeks ago:
Isn’t there a saying that goes: “Every man is their own best doctor” or something like that? I guess the American experiment has no expanded to “Every man are their own best company”.

Like the barcode person said, this was most definitely a PR stunt because she can’t sell her music like she used to. Her recent album after a long break was a total flop.
- Comment on Fedora Linux 42 is out now with KDE Plasma Desktop promoted and x86 programs on ARM 2 weeks ago:
I did notice my RSS downloader having downloaded Fedora-KDE-Desktop-Live-x86_64-42 from distrowatch, but I wasn’t entirely sure if it was the real deal or still beta.
- Comment on Tesla accused of hacking odometers to weasel out of warranty repairs 2 weeks ago:
Who would’ve guessed that part of ones morning routine before going to work would be to take a picture of your odometer to ensure not getting scammed. I guess it isn’t that surprising after the VW emission scandal where they ran a different configuration, reducing emissions, whenever someone was testing the car.
- Comment on Jean-Claude Van Damme accused of knowingly having sex with 5 trafficked women 4 weeks ago:
Maybe it’s because I already think Jean-Claude Van Damme looks like Rocco Siffredi that I don’t find it all that surprising.

Damn, of all the skinned media players I missed the target haha. Yeah, even with WACUP it does feel sluggish to move the player around. Milkdrop though…

QMMP, XMMS or real Winamp?
- Comment on Disabled man dies in poverty and squalor after DWP removes his benefits, just as Labour cuts PIP by £4.5bn 5 weeks ago:
Brutal read. Needing people that can’t even walk to the mailbox to fill out 24 page forms, and them posthumously reinstating his PIP to try and appear as them having done “the right thing” is also so incredibly sleazy.
- Comment on i love trash 5 weeks ago:
They seem like they’d be great pets, if it wasn’t for their unusually short life span of around 4 years as pets (according to wikipedia), and only 1-2 years in the wild.
But opossums are still very cute. - Comment on woolly little chafer 5 weeks ago:

I’ve never not been an atheist, but making bees so friggin’ cute would probably the best proof of intelligent design I’ve ever seen. Screw the “banana’s fit your hand perfectly” crap, nah, look at those pollinators fat furry bodies dude!
