I think I read somewhere about a theory that it’s not the real Adam Smasher that V meets, it’s a clone because the original Adam Smasher could handle the insane amount of cyberware.

- Comment on After shuttering Shadow of Mordor and MultiVersus studios, Warner Bros. Games confirm rearrangement into four bits 2 weeks ago:
It is bullshit indeed. Especially now with AI, seemingly it would be relatively easier to throw in some adversarial llm in a game to keep a game engaging nowadays.
And imagine if other games started patenting systems like that: “Fatrolling is a unique movement system only found in FromSoftware games”. Soon there wouldn’t be anyone making games except for those with patents. - Comment on After shuttering Shadow of Mordor and MultiVersus studios, Warner Bros. Games confirm rearrangement into four bits 2 weeks ago:
Btw. the patented Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor that everyone loved despite only having been used in that one game, won’t expire until 2036, and yeah, Warner Bros. gets to keep it.

This opens the door to so many possibilities. I’m just a dumb-dumb, but skimming through this: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7508700/ it seems that organ xenotransplantation might become a reality in the not too distant future.

I guess there were no way for her to know her husband was alive or not, a real Schrödinger’s spouse situation.
And just to hammer it home that infidelity is wrong, I’m surprised the studio didn’t go with an ending where Bogart got hit by that German and covered up that he was bleeding with that big trench coat, only to collapse after the plane had taken off. But I guess since it was a war movie it was bad for morale to have the “good guy” die. - Comment on YouTube is expanding its ad-blocking powers — closes loopholes that allowed some users to bypass restrictions 3 weeks ago:
Eh, it only lasted for a few hours, then I updated the ublock origin filters and things were back to normal. In the meanwhile I just streamed youtube videos via a media player that had builtin yt-dlp (smplayer) support.
It’ll always be a game of cat and mouse. - Comment on Anon watches a romance movie 3 weeks ago:

It’s believed half of all produced oxygen is done by sea and whale poop is incredibly important for providing nutrients to the surface to help this process.
- Comment on The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Announcement Trailer 3 weeks ago:
Reminder for beltalowda: Telltale, as it rose from its grave, the first game they released upon returning from the dead was “The Expanse: A Telltale Series”, a prequel story about Drummer (who is voiced by Cara Gee).
It’s unfortunately only available on Steam and Epic Games Store on PC and not GOG. - Comment on The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Announcement Trailer 3 weeks ago:
Oh, I didn’t even notice that, yeah, that’s amazing! Might be a game I buy on release just for that reason. DRM-free should be incentivized after all.

- Comment on Alien: Earth trailer 4 weeks ago:
I kind of get the impression that the writers watched Ghost in the Shell at one point. Not that it’s and incredibly unique trope to transfer human consciousness to a robot I guess, but it does remind me of the Major from GitS. And I quite like the idea.
The trailer looks amazing, but having just watched Alien: Romulus the gestation period for xenomorphs is just so fast that if they ever landed on earth I get the feeling that it’d be game over (man) in a matter of weeks or months, so I can’t wait to see the show and figure out how they handle that ‘mechanic’. - Submitted 4 weeks ago to Television@lemm.ee | 7 comments

It’s a bit of an ad (as usual) for a show called CAUGH*T which doesn’t have the best ratings. I was looking forward to a good aussie comedy.
- Comment on OBS Studio 31.1.0 Beta 1 brings Multitrack Video to Linux 5 weeks ago:
I guess that’s pretty cool. What would be even cooler was client side control of the multitrack audio sources. Would be amazing if each viewer could control the volume of each audio source broadcast from the OBS streamer. Imagine being able to control the volume of the game shown or turn up the volume of the streamer, or turn down the volume of the music etc.

Ok, so WinAero points out React Native is cross-platform, but surely that shouldn’t matter for the Windows start menu, right? Unless it’s some ARM compatibility thing, making it easier to port or something.

- Comment on Anon discovers cigarettes 5 weeks ago:
I just watched Casablanca for the first time a couple of days ago, and as someone that hates smoking, I just don’t get how it came to be everywhere back in the day. Ingrid Bergman is probably the only non-smoker in the entire movie! Both her (breast, 69) and Humphrey Bogart (esophageal, 57) died of cancer.
Growing up with two smoking parents that’d both gladly hotbox their kids, my brother and I, when we drove anywhere was just awful. I really don’t get how you can do that to other people without feeling ashamed. - Comment on Anon saved Portugal last month 5 weeks ago:

- Comment on 'The Last of Us' Season 2 Finale Viewership Down 55% From Season 1 5 weeks ago:
I mean, you can tell they had to rush, just look at that scene in the finale here where Ellie capsizes, is almost hung and gutted and then sets off again on her revenge quest in the span of
5 minutes. Actually, make that 3 minutes, I just timed it. - Comment on Finishing your waifus romance questline 5 weeks ago:
That’s what The Last of Us understood - just kill everyone off.
