guess it’s time to move to odyssee, or dailymotion, or glomble (assuming people are willing to build when they come)

dailymotion
What? They still exist? Did they join the Fediverse, become FOSS or something?

I know, I’m asking people to trade one inconvenience for another, and in that case they usually prefer something more familiar, but I’m still tryna keep other names in people’s mind

Do any of those have any kind of monetization? I legitimately don’t know, feel like Dailymotion might have something? Would be great if we just didn’t need to do that, but I don’t think people concerned about their views/earnings on one platform are going to move to one where it’s worse or non existent.

One contributing factor is that this falloff happens every single year and people simply have less time to watch in late August and September, but as the video explains this trend is only present on Desktop Devices after a very specific date indicating something changed.

Its the first I've seen with actual data. Its interesting to say the least.

It would be good if people could be convinced to fill out a poll after seeing a video in large enough numbers to prove if the views simply aren't being counted, but that's next to impossible.

Could you reduce the clickbaityness of the title? (Rule 6)
mesamunefire@piefed.social 2 months ago
I'll try.

Early YT was good because it had a purpose that benefited viewers and creators. That bridge was crossed a long time ago, but there was a before.

It used to be a very fun tool for guitar practice but that joy is long dead
