Its for people who like simple games (theres over 400+ now) and “game and watch” kind of setup. I like putting it in my wallet and bringing it out when I get bored. It gets something like 8-9 hours of battery life. So much that I forget to charge it for weeks on end.
You can also tinker like crazy. I got a couple of games and apps that work with it. Its all C++ but as long as it runs on an Arduino it can most likely run on the device.
I have a miyoo mini plus. And it doesn’t scratch the itch that the arduboy has with simple/tinker games. Both are made for different reasons.
Hope that answers your question!

- Comment on Vulture rediscovers RSS to dull the pain of the modern web 1 week ago:
RSS is great! Internet comes to you rather than the other way around. And its good in almost every device, even ebook readers.
The only issue is when websites tell you, ok there was an update, go to link here. And then you have to do one extra step. Its still better than endlessness scrolling though.

People have done it. The problem is the huge binary blobs for hardware. Its difficult without the hardware company themselves giving you the specs to make your own.
One of the reasons fairphone is supported on many alternate platforms.

I hope they give you the option for a more traditional one. I think https://postmarketos.org/ has many different ones for the same phone he got.
I was impressed by the other apps though. The basics are all there by the look of things.

I wish I remembered…Im spacing right now and search isnt coming up with anything. I just remember there was a small stink because some game or another was too expensive? And they just emulated it but showed one of the screens? Its been many years.
