I don’t think a site can view your system volume. They can however see if a tab is specifically muted developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/…/MutedInfo

How do you know that was due to the cat?

- Comment on Why is lemmy.ca so much faster than lemmy.world? 3 weeks ago:
I recently checked the uptime of several large Lemmy instances and found out that the latency of Lemmy.world was roughly 500ms while the latency of other instances was about 100ms. I suspect this is due to the fact that the daily active user count of Lemmy.world is substantially higher than the other top instances.

Yes. Maybe we just live different lives but I’ve never encountered someone even closely similar to what he’s parodying.

That title does not give a good impression, but I’ve watched the first minute (don’t have more time gotta go to work) and it seems like it’s a somewhat serious video.

- Comment on Why the French Police are so Brutal 1 month ago:
I didn’t think rule 5 applied because this is about the history of French Police. It doesn’t mention any political party (except the Nazi’s) and only briefly mentions the involvement of De Gaulle. I’ll reconsider if multiple people who watched it disagree.

You could het away with murder if your lawyer talked the charges out of it’s context token limit.

Perhaps when we have real AGI, but I wouldn’t want an LLM to decide someone’s fate.
- Comment on AI generated issue 2 months ago:
I’m pretty sure it’s an automated system that makes these issues. The accounts looked like bots. However, that only makes it even weirder.
- Comment on AI generated issue 2 months ago:
People often use a ridiculous amount of emoji’s in their readme, perhaps seeing it was a README triggered something in the LLM to talk like a readme?
- Comment on AI generated issue 2 months ago:
They don’t, because it’s not an actual issue for any human reading it. The README contains the data and the repo is just for coordination, but the LLM doesn’t understand that.

With the prevalence of adblockers on here, Patreon seems like a better option than the little money he would get from 1 view on YouTube.

I’ve once overheard a conversation in the train where someone said “but cholesterol is good, right?” completely unironically.
