Bill Maher has delayed returning to his HBO talk show during the ongoing strike by writers and actors, a decision that follows similar pauses over the weekend by “The Drew Barrymore Show,” “The Talk” and “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”
Maher last week said he would bring his show back into production, but on Monday said he’ll wait because talks are scheduled to begin between producers and writers on Wednesday.

Controversial opinion, I hate Bill Maher. He seems like a giant, egotistical tool that screams tryhard.

Lol it’s a pretty standard opinion, actually. Maybe one of the most shared opinions across the American political spectrum.

I guess I have crappy friends then, damn.

I’ve hated him for platforming conservatives for years while offering the weakest counter-points to their sophistry. He thinks he’s John Stewart, but lacks the discipline and hard work that goes into preparing for interviews with hostile guests.

I never thought that was a controversial opinion. I second that

I’ve yet to meet anyone that likes Bill Maher. He just seems so… douchey.
Snapz@lemmy.world 2 years ago
That’s not controversial? It’s known that he’s taken a pronounced, pandering turn to the right and is not redeemable.

I don’t hate him, but there is a lot of ego and vanity on the guy. And he’s far less clever than he thinks he is.

Or over 40 and have some sense.

It’s not controversial. Anybody with the level of success he’s reached has a trillion trolls and haters. You can’t make everyone like you… especially when you speak your mind about everything.
