Imagine seeing a child on a couch and not being able to see it as anything but sexual. Wtf.
shalafi@lemmy.world 1 day ago
If that were a pic of a real little girl, would you say the same? Barely pubescent, short shorts gapped around her thighs, legs held up and back, tank top strap slipping off, big eyes staring at you… fuck, gonna stop there.
How about this: If I posted a pic of my 11-yo in those clothes, in that position, all hell would break loose and I’d be banned forever and ever amen. Probably get reported to the FBI. But you would just say it’s a child on a couch?
And if that’s all it is, nothing titillating, why would anyone post such a thing? Again, how about I post a pic of my daughter dressed like that, in that position? We all good with that? (You have to say “yes”, you’ve backed yourself into a corner.)

You know how anti gay politicians often turn out to be gay…

This doesn’t seem to be an actual question. It’s a rant.

We have an active rant community on SDF !rant@lemmy.sdf.org

Look at this shit, tell me it isn’t child porn.
There’s no nudity. It’s not even suggestive.
Anyway, yeah, I’ve seen some at least quite questionable shit in that regards, but blocking burggit.moe instance fixed that for me. Though I am not sure how much of such stuff is federated with SDF, since for that to show up here at least one user hast to be subscribed to the community from our instance.
Same for any other instance, which is why some of them look so empty even when browsing “All”.As far as my blocklist goes:

Suggestive doesn’t need nudity.
user224@lemmy.sdf.org 1 day ago
I know. That’s why I said “not even”.

That’s not a sexual picture. It’s just a kid. Wtf is wrong with you that you find that sexual?
Ganbat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day ago
Homie doesn’t know what porn is.
maxxadrenaline@lemmy.world 1 day ago
It’s suggestive sure, but so is a lot of cinematography in mainstream american movies. I can tell when a good cinematographer fims tastefully because the shot is comfortable to watch. When there’s exterme angles and other tripups of the camera’s eye you can tell it’s off somewhat. It’ not cp but a more tasteful artist would be more widely enjoyed.
shalafi@lemmy.world 1 day ago
I wholeheartedly agree! But the cinematographer’s subject usually isn’t a barely pubescent child.

folk defending this as “just an image of a child” and not seeing it as a minor being softcore sexualized should really revaluate your perception.
this is not a good look for anime fans in general and I don’t like that I have to ban every anime sub so I can browse lemmy on the bus.
please realize that this will only end up hurting the community in the long term when everyday people join and see stuff like this and assume that all anime content is of this nature.
don’t get me wrong I like anime but there’s a difference between a pic of Anya as a cute kid and the image in the OP.
UnRelatedBurner@sh.itjust.works 1 day ago
Haha welcome, wait until you get to the politics. Anime, maybe you can block, left extremists, no way, not a chance.
But you are overthinking it, searching by all basically got removed from reddit, because only like every 5th post wasn’t nsfw. And now you joined the less moderated reddit, ofc you are seeing more trash. Just block it, and move on. Or browse by subscribed, I do, and I see none of that.
The anime community isn’t stereotypically known for having a loving marriage. And I have an idea of what pictures you are talking about. Pretty bottom of the barrel stuff. But hand drawn art is important. Especially these days, even if they’re wierd. So, if you don’t like it, please just ignore it. This isn’t worth getting worked up about imo.

When you join the largest “catch all” instance, then you browse “all”, then you get the good with the bad. large means large, all means all. the point of the Fediverse is that you can create your own feed, starting from scratch if you wish, but nobody ever said that would be trivially easy. Federation gives you the ability to see literally everything, if that’s what you choose, but you have to choose whether you want “everything” to be the default or “nothing” to be the default. If you want showing everything to be the default, you can join the hugest mega instance available (lemmy.world) that’s what you did.
If you’d rather opt-in to new communities instead of having to opt-out, start small. Go join a very small or heavily moderated or both instance, or start your own using a whitelist that only federates with communities you know are okay.
Also consider that you don’t have to click on shit you don’t want to see. You’re choosing to go to “all”, you’re choosing to click, to engage, to be angry. Nothing you say or shout or scream or rant about is going to stop this stuff from being out there in the world. I understand you don’t want to see it, neither do I. That’s why I have joined a smaller instance that has already rather strict rules and relatively strong moderation, and I have further tailored my communities based on that, and when that fails and I occasionally see something I don’t want to see, I downvote it or hide it or report it and move on with my life, because that happens, shitty things exist, I accept that is part of the reality I exist in and I don’t have to like everything I see and if I can’t do anything useful about it I’m not going to lose my mind about it.
I’m not trying to tell you you’re using lemmy wrong but… you’re using it wrong.

You think pictures of children is porn? If that’s the case, you maybe the one with the problem. There is nothing sexual in the image you linked.
thermal_shock@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Bullshit that’s not suggestive. That’s like saying when the Nazi bois type “1488”, it doesn’t mean the first 14 letters of the white national phrase and “heil Hitler”. It’s a dog whistle. Nearly all anime is a sexualized cartoon, even when there is no nudity. Downvote me if you want, but I agree with OP, especially when it’s in a sub with other sexualized or R34 crap.
AdamBomb@lemmy.sdf.org 1 day ago
It is 100% suggestive.
I see it’s a popular tactic to accuse the whistleblowers as being the ones with the real problem, which is a bullshit attempt to suppress discourse on the topic. I have another idea: that maybe those who claim that this picture isn’t sexual have been overexposed to much harder child sexual content, and as a result this picture doesn’t register on their radar. Speaking as someone who has not been exposed to any child sexual material, this is immediately, obviously meant to titillate.
