It’s so bad that when they try to give away teslas on The Price is Right, the audience is quiet.

I can’t tell if this is true or a “yo mama” style joke
masterofn001@lemmy.ca 3 days ago
It is true.
Recently saw 2 episodes over the past few weeks.
One was a cyber truck, and a model s a few days ago.
Never heard an audience (and contestant) not go wild over any car.
It was a noticeably unenthusiastic response.

Yo momma so ugly, when she bought a Tesla the stock price went up
… This is a hilarious reference to the fact TSLA is a meme stock that makes no goddamn sense.

I read that as a “Yo Yo Ma style joke” and was very confused.

I wished at one point to own a used Tesla car one day. However now I simply would never wish that car on anyone. Thus, My assumption is that the general public has a similar thinking and that Tesla will slowly spiral.

Good!

Never protested or did anything organised. Went from “yeah, a Tesla would be amazing to own” to “ugh, no thanks, don’t want to be seen driving that”.
Musk has only himself to blame.

This article doesn’t really live up to the headline.
I read to see why it’s worse than it seems, and the reason given is that Tesla isn’t competitive or popular.
That’s not really worse than it appears. That’s just as bad as it appears.
Which is really bad. But there’s no second shoe in the article. I want my two minutes back.

Thank you for your service.

The article sounds like it lifted the headline from some comment I’ve seen:

I mourn for the leopards.
Their digestive systems were not designed to digest LiON batteries =(

Utterly tangential, but:
… wtf is the origin of the ‘waiting for the shoe to drop’ phrase … to indicate waiting for a twist in a plot, or a secret to be revealed, an impactful complication to be explained?
How… what is the metaphor here?
???

If you live in a boarding house or apartment and the man above you comes home late and sits on his bed and takes his shoes off and drops them on the floor. You wait for him to get the second shoe off and drop it.

I wish I read this comment before wasting my two minutes as well…
