Wait until the “enlightened centrists” weigh in. Both sides are wrong, it’s a global conspiracy is created by the Illuminati.
How it feels wandering into different bubbles sometimes

“Enlightened” centrists are just extreme contrarians.

I find they’re usually just cowards afraid to stand both feet on anything, and/or self-aware of their ignorance so they give the “both-sides” shpheal because it sounds pithy and intelligent.

Both sides are wrong. The centrist are also wrong. Only my conciousness is real, and y’all are part of my imagination. I’m the sole arbitrator of the truth. 🤓

I’m immune to propaganda because I consume all of it. Can’t taste anything when everything is blended together.

The interesting thing about reading from different bubbles to get the different perspectives on the same event is just how different the set of events covered is.
The right may be furious about something and the left barely cover it and vice versa, it needs to be a huge event to attract comment from both sides.

This has been my experience too. And then once one side does something in response to what was covered in their bubble, the opposite side has no idea why and is completely befuddled by their behavior.

It helps to think yourself. At least you can make more consistent arguments. But also, yeah, our world is sometimes complicated. Understanding everything isn’t feasible.

I find that truth is relative to different people, but facts are undeniable and should be where logical decisions are based on.

Or if the first side is objectively right, an infinite percentage more misinformation.

This is literally what I’ve been dealing with recently. It’s insane. Liberals and Conservatives are equally to blame.

You also need a third, unbiased source, then cross-reference the information gathered from all sides and build a reasonable conclusion.
But if that’s too much work, then join the side that benefits you. After all…
“The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters.
~ Genghis Khan”
~ random internet person
Or the abridged version:
“To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.”
~ Conan the Barbarian, as copy-pasted from random website

I hate this vehemently but you’re getting an upvote

Where can i find a third unbiased source? All the news sites i’ve seen have some kind of slant
RandomVideos@programming.dev 1 month ago
Find someone who says they are an anarcho-primitivist and ask them questions
Walk_blesseD@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 month ago
There is literally no such thing as an unbiased source of information. Anyone who tells you otherwise just wants you to switch off your critical thinking when it comes to the sources they say are unbiased, whether they know it or not.
untorquer@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Oh you’ll find all the dissent slants on Ground News!
lath@lemmy.world 1 month ago
That’s a good question. Which is why I wrote the second part for those who can’t find an answer to it.
