- WillowBe@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 months ago- It is the Steam Deck without the screen. Just the controller I ever want
- bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 11 months ago- I really hope the VR controller can be used without VR. Stop forcing my hands together! I want freedom! - Loved the Wii for the ability to hold my hands independent of each other. - mtlvmpr@sopuli.xyz 11 months ago- Well the joy-cons kinda do that but if you wanted something that’s actually adult sized you’d have to check 3rd party options and there’s probably no guarantee that it will work on anything other than the Switch. - dabaldeagul@feddit.nl 11 months ago- JoyCons are very uncomfortable and fairly unreliable… Would be nice to have some quality product that serves a similar purpose.

The Steam Controller trackpad was not a sufficient alternative for joystick input when most games designed input with the right joystick in mind. Aiming and camera control with a variable and non-tactile deadzone and input default of trackpad camera controls has always been annoying to me.

I unboxed them right after I left the shop. They were wired and looked and felt exactly like 5€ chinese gamepads. So I immediately returned them and went to another shop in the same mall where I got a pair of Speedlink Rait controllers for 22€ each. They feel very well-built, just like an xbox controller and are supported by all OS and console emulators out of the box. It basically shows up as a Switch Pro controller, so it’s perfectly supported by Yuzu.

NGL: I hope that is not the final design because it looks rather cumbersome to actually hold.

So did the Deck but it ended up being quite comfortable.

The angle looks a bit odd too, I’d expect those grips to be more prominent if it wasn’t angled down

It looks like the inbred cousin of the Xbox “Duke” that ended up being surprisingly economical. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely hope it’s something close to that. Most controllers are too small for me.

It’d be cool if controllers could just be adjustable size. Hand sizes are wild. My fingers are pretty short; my best friend has E.T. length fingers. We are otherwise about the same height and build.
