People within the supposedly same religion can’t agree on things all the time. It’s entirely possible that his girlfriend’s version of the religion is nothing like what op would find online, or even more likely, that Apple find multiple claims online that disagree with each other.
The thing about religion is if looking at the moon is against a religion, but some senior person in that religion really likes to look at the Moon, it’ll suddenly be allowed.
