Not everything David Lynch does is good. Some creative decisions he makes are just awkward.

I’m really trying. I live in the PNW and love weird shit, but I’ve never been able to stick with Twin Peaks more than a few episodes, and recently had a hard time getting through Blue Velvet, so I think David Lunch just isn’t for me.

Same. Downloaded the entire series and HD and couldn’t get past the first episode.

Same for me. I tried about a month ago. Shut it off less than half-way through.
TBF, though, I do this with a lot of shows.

Blue Velvet is wild and I understand. I actually found the movie through a FX animation called Stone Quakers where they made an entire episode parodying that movie. It made it more fun. I think the lesson was leablve police work to the police.

Same, but hated every minute of the two eps of tp that I forced myself through.
That, combined with the extremely high praise from a LOT of people leads me to believe that I’m the one not getting it, and that just continues to bother me. I have had multiple people try to explain it to me, one ex even reluctantly gave me away the twist at the end. Nah. Still feels like nails on a chalkboard and then the end going “I meant to do that the whole time”.
Maybe I’ll go at it again, someday. But, until then, people praising it continues to be enigmatic.
