  How do you feel about deep fried pickles?

    There’s a pickleball place called Chicken and Pickle, I was told they have the BEST fried pickles ever. I said, “that’s like bragging that you took the best dump ever into your shoes and then wore them.”

    Anyway, people convinced me they were worth trying. I finally caved, and I was surprised! The breading was insanely crispy and impressively seasoned, the pickle slices weren’t too thick, so they didn’t get too hot. And when you ate the whole fried pickle chip, it tasted like someone stuck a dank cum-sock in ranch flavored ranch, and then let the whole thing sit out until it turned sour.

    People are entitled to their opinions, but fried pickles seem like they’re just objectively bad. Maybe someone can explain why they like fried pickles, but I just don’t get it.

    Never tried one… I’ll avoid them if I can.

    That said, dehydrated and lightly salted okra I love.

    Fried squishy okra… I’ll usually pass every time.

    I’m still curious why someone would name a sweet pickle bread and butter. Neither bread nor butter tastes anything like whatever they did to those poor cucumbers

      They filed for the trademark "Fanning's Bread and Butter Pickles" in 1923 (though the recipe and similar recipes are probably much older).[8] The story to the name is that the Fannings survived rough years by making the pickles with their surplus of undersized cucumbers and bartering them with their grocer for staples such as bread and butter.[9] Their taste is often much sweeter than other types of pickle, due to the sweeter brine they are marinated in, but they differ from sweet pickles in that they are spiced with cilantro and other spices.
