infinitesunrise@slrpnk.net 4 hours agoI love Hasan. I wish more privileged voices were as concise and consistent and forceful on left issues like he is. If there were several dozen more people like him we wouldn’t all have to couch our support for their advocacy with a milquetoast disclaimer about how we don’t even like them.
Hell, I’m a vegan and an anarchist. He regularly throws those aspects of my identity under the bus to offer a fig leaf to the unconvinced in his audience so that they listen to more central leftist ideas, and still I love him for that. He has millions of followers, I cannot fathom how impactful he has been to leftist advocacy all over the world in the past 5 years. I’m so fucking sick of people putting disclaimers on their support for him. I don’t even sub to him and I love the guy.

About half of his content is interviews with activists / politicians and live-on-the-ground protest coverage. His “react” coverage is mostly training his audience to digest mainstream newsmedia through a leftist lens rather than dramaslop-type takes.
