Anyone with a taste in music.

Riiight, of all the music there is, only ppl who like jazz have taste…sounds like a jazz fan for sure.

Not at all, if you have taste in music, you find great music in all genres. Great music is great, no matter what broad categories it is defined by. “Jazz” covers an astoundingly vast spread of sounds and feelings. If you enjoy music for the sensation of music, Jazz is just one of the many, many places that you will find that joy.

Taste in music doesn’t require finding value in every genre…the ego on these jazz fans, my god.

Jazz gave birth to hiphop, rap, r&b, techno, classic rock and roll and a hundred other genres. It is a clash of black, latine, and working class white history and passion.
It also evolved parallel to samba, bossa nova, blues, and other dissonance and rhythm based genres.
Taste is subjective but jazz is for sure a HUGE qualifier towards taste and from it have arisen thousands of subgenres which hundreds of millions of people enjoy.

What nonsense is this? Jazz influenced those but so did other genres, none of them “gave birth” to them.
