Definitely not, it’s bad for the most vulnerable portion of society to not have access to money. You can’t pay rent or a doctor with corn and beans.

You can pay for prostitutes, which means the situation is dire. Doctors can probably be bargained with in this scenario if you have the beans to pay.

The worth of food being high enough for this to be plausible, that’s the issue. Also food has a very stable value.
