You and I must be using different Youtubes. Any time I look up an Elden Ring or Silksong boss guide video, the person recording it starts with a “This boss is actually really easy…”

This has not been a problem since YouTube became a thing.
Now I can watch someone beat it to see if I’m doing something wrong. Sometimes I am, and sometimes the boss is actually hard, but now I know which.

I, too, like to watch other beat it.

Videos also help a lot when I have trouble navigating levels (Dark Souls is kinda notorious for that), and when they’re that confusing, the layout is pretty hard to visualize in maps, too.

First you have to listen to a sponsor pitch or two scam products

How are people still watching youtube without sponsorblock and ublock?

Except then you got to wade through a dozen videos all an hour long that are like 55 minutes longer than need to be.

You can literally see the length of the video as you search, idk what to tell you, this has never been an issue for me
njm1314@lemmy.world 10 hours ago
I’m confused by this comment. I know how long the videos are, my point is they are too long. That’s what’s never been an issue for you? You’ve never found a YouTube video that is way longer than it needs to be?
474D@lemmy.world 8 hours ago
Not in this context because you can just click one that’s shorter that covers the same issue

YouTube algorithms are purposely designed to encourage longer videos. There’s no way you’ve never seen a video that isn’t incredibly inflated with fluff.
Skipcast@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
Good thing you can scrub the video and skip the fluff
rumschlumpel@feddit.org 9 hours ago
Also you can skip ahead in the video.
