What is not to like about turkey? 🤷♀️

I haven’t been notified of any substitutions in my grocery order so I think I am going to get my turkey this time. Christmas is saved! Or at least my plans to have a roast turkey some time after Christmas and cut up most of it to go in the freezer for future lunches is saved. Apparently I’m the only one in my family that likes turkey so I only get it if I do it myself.

Usually the way other family members cook it into something consistent w/ a gumboot lol.

The one time I cooked a turkey (I was still with my ex, and it was his idea. Except I did ALL the work). I cleaned it, made stuffing. Stuffed that bitch up. It barely fit in my oven, burnt my hands getting it out. Basted it.
It turned out great, for my first and only time. The only “bad” thing was the skin wasn’t crispy. But the meat was so juicy and delicious, so I consider it a win… Even if his family were very blasé about my work and praised him… For standing in the kitchen dry retching while I cleaned the turkey I guess 🤷🏼♀️😂😂

I have no idea. At xmas I just hide it by putting excessive gravy on and wincing heh.

I love turkey, but don’t do Christmas. This has the advantage of buying it the week after when on special

I do not understand it myself. But my mother decided she prefers chicken and stopped doing turkey years ago and my sister’s inlaws side cooked pork as their traditional meal, so if I don’t cook it myself I don’t get turkey. The weirdos tend to not want stupidly large legs of ham either and generally get a small piece that doesn’t have lots of leftovers. How are you supposed to overdose on ham when people want ‘sensible’ amounts just for one meal? Sensible amounts of food is not what Christmas is supposed to be about!

I used to buy big legs of ham and would be eating it for weeks after xmas 🙂
I’d slice some, fry it up, have a fried egg too and then in a sandwich, delicious .
I’ll ask the other Seagoons if they want one.

Coles deli turkey breast slices are pretty good. Saves a lot of hassle and you can choose the portion you need.
