  The locksmith said he will write up that it was a fault with the lock and not my own dumb ass forgetting the keys. I don’t think I can try claim it from my landlord though… Feels quite theft-like

  Yeah this happened to me once when I lived in an apartment. If you don’t have a spot to hide a spare key, leave one in your car, or slide one into your wallet.
