I have no option on mesh vs upholstery, but have strong opinion that any desk chair needs to full adjustable in seat height, tilt, back support, arm rest height. Because everybody’s body is different and getting it set up right is that’s what’s gonna make it comfortable for you.

Anyone have opinions on mesh office chairs? I’ve been thinking of getting one for my girlfriend.
It seems to be a case of either, ‘you need to spend a lot’ or ‘don’t spend a lot, they all come out of the same factory’

Both unis I’ve been to have hundreds of these chairs, and they’ve been super comfortable compared to the plastic chair I have at home. But YMMV.
I feel like Marketplace could be a good way to source one.

Unis wouldn’t be spending crazy money on these chairs either so that’s reassuring

Happen to have a picture of one?

I was thinking something like this. For reference, I spent a lot more on a Steelcase Leap when I had business money to play with so this is a lot cheaper by comparison:

The one I have at work just had a one piece back but in the same mesh material.
They’re super comfy for long extended periods of time. I don’t think I’ve even gotten sore from sitting on them for too long.

I had a Herman miller Aeron chair, now it’s living in Perth with my dad. The only thing I need when he passes away eventually is that chair back. Best thing ever

Do you mean office chairs with mesh for the seat? Super comfortable, the one I have is better than any cushion seat office chair that I’ve tried.
