doctorâs appointments are not organised in a way we would do ourselves
they kinda do blocks and a few people get assigned into that block of time, and then itâs a first come first seen basis
so if your appointment is for 10.30 that means you are in that block, not that you will be seen at 10.30

Heaps of reasons.
It turns into a cascade. They might have a patient(s) before you where the consult is more complex and needs more time. Which leads to more paperwork before the next. Your problem might be more complex and so on. Then some might overbook due to no shows (pretty common in rona times), also sometimes greed from the doctor. Sometimes poor management from the secretary.
If the cascade starts early in the day, the poor souls at the end of the day (including doc and staff)âŚ
