Yes it might be depending on context. But. I literally know of at least 2 marriages in the ethnic community I’m from that are like this. Person marries a citizen to stay. It not an easy process though, but for some couples they may find the arrangement mutually beneficial so it happens.

yeah… I’m an immigrant myself and nearly all the adults in my family who are here are… and it’s definitely a thing questioned even within immigrant communities where someone with citizenship/PR starts a new relationship with someone who’s just moved in from the motherland.
