Ditto. Wouldn’t be this big culture shock. You could just drive there, don’t gotta mess with flying. If you can get to Mexico, you can fly out anywhere else if you’d like. And like a lot of people, we already know basic Spanish from school. Wouldn’t be hard to pick up the rest. xD

My partner and I are already brainstorming what countries we would go to if in the future shit really hits the fan. I mean just as a hypothetical. Mexico’s up there. We could easily pick up and go, trouble is it’d be harder to get the rest of our family on board.

I like working in triage for this reason. Lots of autonomy, sure it gets busy but there’s also days with lots of downtime, plus you get to shoot the shit with doctors and pick their brain.

Yeah the slogan goes “Don’t be scared. It’s just water.” So same here, I thought it was just water lol.

Just reading that, you come off uninterested.
- Comment on Do you feel like you've reached the end of what the world has to offer? 6 days ago:
Yeah, life is what you make it. Here I am feeling like there isn’t enough time to do everything I want to do. Wild how different the mindset can be.
New experiences keep your mind feeling young and healthy. They also make time move slower. Time flies when everything’s mundane. That’s how you blink and suddenly you’re older. Can’t remember what you did because you didn’t really do anything. Someone told me this once and I’ve found it to be very true.

- Comment on if you work night shifts, do you have a life? Are you healthy? 4 weeks ago:
Hello! Fellow nurse here. I’ve been doing nights since I first started working. 5 8’s are godawful and soul-sucking, only as a new grad, I would never do that shit again.
3 12’s are much better. I could do that and manage a life actually. Helps that I don’t necessarily need daylight to do the things I like to do. I can still watch movies, play my video games, read, watch football, cook, go out for dinner and drinks, go to a concert, etc. I just need to plan around store hours. So I think in that aspect, it depends on the person and what activities they enjoy.
Now, currently I’m per diem working nights. It’s the BEST. I mean I got it made, I’m so fortunate lol. Plenty of work. I set my own schedule. No management. Shift differential. I can take off for vacation whenever I want, just as long as I fulfill the 4 shifts/month minimum. So let’s say I take a month vacation, I’d come back and grind out the shifts, pay the bills and credit card or whatever. Just when I’m getting real sick of work, I get to go on vacation again. So that’s how I manage my work-life balance.

Yeah simply put - if I was the kid and I was able to comprehend being born at a permanent disadvantage, and I knew you had a choice in the matter… Hell yeah I’d be mad!

Gearing up for Halloween season and really enjoying the creepy vibes wherever they may crop up, including picking out some indie horror games to play. This looks great (and no jump scares are nice hehe). Thanks for the spooky content! :D
- Comment on What do allergies feel like for you? 4 months ago:
So I’ve had allergies all my life. Waking up stuffy or sniffling is super common, I don’t even keep track of it. When it’s bad, if I tilt my head back, I’m literally drinking mucus lol (gross). I joke about being allergic to the outdoors, spring time’s bad, and there’s particularly something about the desert that makes my allergies act up. Some of the shrubs out there, sagebrush maybe. And I can get it basically everywhere, even while traveling to other countries, so it seems like I’m allergic to multiple things. My allergy symptoms are pretty much sneezing and sniffling, nothing to do with the throat.
I’ve taken OTC antihistamine meds before. They don’t completely dry me out but it helps a little. They’re not a magical cure, so I actually don’t bother most of the time.
I don’t think you’re being a big baby, because it sounds like you just developed this issue? I just deal with it because it’s normal, it’s been going on my whole life, kinda like wearing glasses lol.

- Comment on Do animals feel love and emotion? 4 months ago:
They absolutely do! Some animals mate for life. Some mourn when one of their own dies (see whales, elephants). Parrots who are lonely may self-mutilate. Dogs can remember you and get so excited to see you, even after being separated for years. Interspecies friendships exist. It’s like… I don’t see how people can still think animals DON’T have emotions.
They just don’t make faces like humans do. Although interestingly, dogs developed eyebrow muscles that give them more human-like expressions, which therefore strengthens our bond with them.

That’s why I love the MH series - plenty of value, even just solo’ing it. I’m still trying to finish up World, doing everything I want to do. Unfortunately I have to put a lot of time into these games to “git gud” lol. And of course at the same time, real life responsibilities calls. xD Not quite ready to move on just yet!

Not sure what other NSFW instances off the top of my head. I think lemmit.online mirrors different subreddits, so maybe some NSFW options there
