- Comment on Apple Loses $1 Billion Annually on Apple TV+ | Report 2 weeks ago:
I don’t know the latest value but in 2013 Apple had like $162 billion in cash reserves on hand. Burning a billion a year is nothing especially as you say they’re just ‘art banking’ it for the future.

Okay sure. But there are dozens of reports already on different news sites.

A couple of days ago another Chinese company dropped their general AI agent which seems to blow openAIs plans out of the water:
It’s already hitting the mainstream press: forbes.com/…/chinas-autonomous-agent-manus-change…
Lots of social buzz already saying this could be bigger than deepseek as Manus says in their video that this will be open sourced. So good luck with your money plans OpenAI!

Gladiator 2. Meh. Would’ve gone over better if they left out the baboons and sharks. Or maybe not.

- Comment on Don’t Look Up director says ‘half a billion people’ have now seen film despite critics 2 months ago:
I get what you’re saying but film critics don’t rate for enjoyment or suitability in some situations but for the quality of the film.
The Cannes film probably is objectively better as a work of cinematic art and worthy of the 9.2 score whereas your lazy Sunday afternoon flick is a 6.8.
If you’re feeling lazy and don’t want to think much then pick whatever because that critic rating says nothing about the enjoyment value of the film.
It’s like restaurants. No-one is going to argue that a Michelin star restaurant isn’t a more refined experience than the pizza shop down the street. But 90% of the time you’d prefer a pizza. But celebrating a 40th birthday, let’s go fancy.

- Comment on Hypothetically, if some mysterious force started to jam every radio frequency, how would modern day society adapt to this? 3 months ago:
I’ve read the English books. The Netflix series was kinda faithful to the books but it’s only season 1 so far. It’s not finished yet. There’s a Chinese tv series as well which is a lot harder to find but I’ve watched a bit of it and it seems much more like a direct adaptation of the books.

In the three body problem books one of the main plot points is a very similar scenario (although not identical). No spoilers but it might be worth a read / watch.

Yeah it’s the FDA keeping people from exercising.
What he’s missing is that people who want raw milk are already finding ways to get it. And people who understand the safety issues won’t buy it.

With worldwide inflation post COVID it’s been a shitty time for incumbent governments world wide. There’s been a change of power in every single western election this year.
And the simple question the opposition can ask is: are you better off today than 4 years ago?
People eat that shit up.
