Getting close to a year now. Hope you make it.
- Comment on Disc market share for week ending in 2025-06-07: Captain America and Yellowstone are at #1 and #2 yet again. 21 hours ago:
Jeez, why did DVD share go up so much? It’s usually about 50% DVD when I see these things.

This is why I don’t buy non-stick anything.
Your intestines must look squeaky clean though.

We actually have jobs where we can take time off to protest. You know, if we’re being rude and stereotyping.
- Comment on Spicy food never affects my gut and everyone thinks it's really weird. How unusual is this and what could be happening to explain why spicy food doesn't affect me? 2 days ago:
I couldn’t say how common it is, but I’m a bit jealous. I love spicy food but I definitely suffer the consequences. Not usually in the feeling it on the way out but in the irregular movements department.
And it’s not even about having something too spicy. Sometimes I eat something one day and I’m fine, but eat it a different day and and it wrecks me.

The uhh, simplified version, is that the way out has the same reciptors as the way in when it comes to spiciness.

Reminds me of the hand from Willy Wonka.
- Comment on Ads when you’re pumping gas 1 week ago:
It’s still very rare for me to see a pump with ads. Mostly happens at stores with attached gas stations: Kroger, Walmart, etc. I don’t go to those places. Not because of ads though. That’s just a bonus.

I had the same reaction.

I don’t reward companies who make shitty decision after shitty decision.
- Comment on Supreme Court unanimously judged that reverse discrimination does not require extra proof 1 week ago:
You’re right, but I’m using the same terms as the article. Racism has become somewhat of a catch all term for many types of descrimination.
- Comment on Supreme Court unanimously judged that reverse discrimination does not require extra proof 1 week ago:
The problem with “reverse racism” is that it gets tossed around too casually. Might even be the case here. Gay person promoted a gay person? Apparently it must be reverse racism. Couldn’t just be that the gay person is better for the job, or was more friendly with the boss. Nope, it’s clearly because that person is gay.
Presumably, we’ll see the facts once the case starts.
- Comment on Disc market share for week ending in 2025-05-24: Captain America flies over A Knights Tale in its second week. 2 weeks ago:
I’m one of them. It mostly comes down to, is this movie a visual masterpiece. If no, I get a DVD, usually. Depends on price. Sometimes a Blu-ray is cheaper cause of a sale or someone selling a cheap copy. There’s maybe a handful of movies I own where Blu-ray is a must.
I own nothing in 4k despite having a 4k TV. The difference is miniscule to me. At least at normal viewing distance.
- Comment on No context needed. 2 weeks ago:
It’s less about how clean it actually is and more about how I feel about it. Same way that I wouldn’t eat anything that fell into a brand new unused toilet. Like, it’s clean, but… nah.
- Comment on No context needed. 2 weeks ago:
I’d never do that, even if I just deep cleaned my sink.

Unfortunately, this administration isn’t going to be much help for her. Feels like this is going to be an uphill battle.
- Comment on The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people? 3 weeks ago:
Looking at the global median isn’t a good comparison, for starters. Many of those school systems aren’t comparable.
That said, there’s not likely to be one reason. I could guess at them, but I’d rather not since some will inevitably be wrong.
- Comment on The end is near for on-the-job reverse discrimination — another blow to DEI 4 weeks ago:
Yea, what’s described here is not what “leftists” want. That’s the same problem, just flip flopped. What we want is for people to be appropriately represented. It’s about getting to a good balance, not going over the hill to the other side. That doesn’t do any good.
- Comment on Anon describes currency 4 weeks ago:
Anything is only worth as much as someone else wants it. Everything comes down to supply and demand. Currency is just a medium so you don’t have to trade fish for lumber in order to trade the lumber for some bacon. Also, pretty convenient to be paid in currency instead of fish, lumber, or bacon. You can use it to directly buy/get what you want.
If no wants to buy or sell the currency then it’s a pretty worthless currency. That’s why you can’t just crate your own currency and buy things with Bob’s Bucks.

Funnily enough, I got mad at CVS being far too persistent on my meds when I kept texting no that I finally said “fuck off” and then it finally stopped pestering me. I didn’t expect it to do anything. I was just mad.
- Comment on ‘Suits LA’ Canceled By NBC After One Season 5 weeks ago:
Figuring out what makes a show work is half the battle in making a spin-off. And for this one, a lot of it was the characters. But they took the crappy parts of the show, namely the company drama after the Mike drama wrapped up, and thought they could make it work in a new location.
I mean, they don’t even have a Mike character, with or without the law degree drama. That was the whole gimmick of the original. Remove him and you’ve just got some generic lawyer drama show.

That’s one way to kill the desire for children.
