- Comment on The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people? 6 days ago:
Looking at the global median isn’t a good comparison, for starters. Many of those school systems aren’t comparable.
That said, there’s not likely to be one reason. I could guess at them, but I’d rather not since some will inevitably be wrong.
- Comment on The end is near for on-the-job reverse discrimination — another blow to DEI 1 week ago:
Yea, what’s described here is not what “leftists” want. That’s the same problem, just flip flopped. What we want is for people to be appropriately represented. It’s about getting to a good balance, not going over the hill to the other side. That doesn’t do any good.
- Comment on Anon describes currency 1 week ago:
Anything is only worth as much as someone else wants it. Everything comes down to supply and demand. Currency is just a medium so you don’t have to trade fish for lumber in order to trade the lumber for some bacon. Also, pretty convenient to be paid in currency instead of fish, lumber, or bacon. You can use it to directly buy/get what you want.
If no wants to buy or sell the currency then it’s a pretty worthless currency. That’s why you can’t just crate your own currency and buy things with Bob’s Bucks.

Funnily enough, I got mad at CVS being far too persistent on my meds when I kept texting no that I finally said “fuck off” and then it finally stopped pestering me. I didn’t expect it to do anything. I was just mad.
- Comment on ‘Suits LA’ Canceled By NBC After One Season 2 weeks ago:
Figuring out what makes a show work is half the battle in making a spin-off. And for this one, a lot of it was the characters. But they took the crappy parts of the show, namely the company drama after the Mike drama wrapped up, and thought they could make it work in a new location.
I mean, they don’t even have a Mike character, with or without the law degree drama. That was the whole gimmick of the original. Remove him and you’ve just got some generic lawyer drama show.

- Comment on What are some good examples of "Where the fuck do you go" kind of games? 3 weeks ago:
Turok 1? Cause IIRC there’s only a couple areas where I feel you can get stuck unless you really think about things. For the most part you just explore all parts of the map until you find the right place to go.
The one that first comes to mind is the level where you’ve got to find a bunch of switches to raises “stairs” over a pit of lava. Again, IIRC. The other one is a place where you’ve got to know that falling off the cliff won’t kill you. But IIRC you can see the tree tops in that area which you wouldn’t see in an area where falling will kill you.

- Comment on Trump Labor Dept Threatens States Giving Unemployment Benefits To Illegals 4 weeks ago:
They can certainly pay income tax. That’s the purpose of the TIN, for those who don’t have a SSN. I do not know all of which taxes are paid which is why I said what I said before. Generally speaking, if you use SS but haven’t paid into it, you’re committing fraud. Immigration status doesn’t directly come into play.
- Comment on Trump Labor Dept Threatens States Giving Unemployment Benefits To Illegals 4 weeks ago:
I’m not sure I agree with you. Simply because I’m not sure if you agree with the article. I do not agree with the article. Illegals can pay taxes. Trump is saying they don’t deserve the benefits the taxes pay for, hence checking their database. Which I 100% believe is going to have bad data in it since they’ve already proven that with who they’ve rounded up so far.
All this js really going to do is make less of them pay taxes because they won’t get benefits. How is that helpful? Now they’ll be using other things taxes pay for but won’t be contributing.
- Comment on Trump Labor Dept Threatens States Giving Unemployment Benefits To Illegals 4 weeks ago:
If they pay taxes, they get benefits. Simple as that.

Why him? His character is terrible. I can’t imagine him being the center of a series.
- Comment on [deleted] 5 weeks ago:
That doesn’t mean there was an order to deport him though. The whole point of preventing him from being deported back to El Salvador is so they could figure out if his claims were true and what should be done with him. Instead of actually doing that, they just skipped to deporting him.
If this was only about him being deported back to a country he wasn’t supposed to be deported to, there wouldn’t be near as much an uproar. But it’s not.
- Comment on [deleted] 5 weeks ago:
Uhh, no he wasn’t. Unless we’re talking about different people. Kilmar Garcia was actually under a “withholding of removal” order to prevent him from being sent back to El Salvador because he was supposedly running from gangs. He has never been convicted of any crime in the US, though it does seem like there’s some domestic violence incidents. Hardly gang or immigration related based on how often demostic violence happens in the US.
Hell, even the US government says he wasn’t supposed to be deported. How can you sit here and say otherwise?
- Comment on [deleted] 5 weeks ago:
So, your position is that he was so obviously MS13 that we can just skip due process? Even if I took that at face value, which I don’t, it would have been trivial to prove in court and have him legally deported. This isn’t the strong position that you think it is.
