Given an infinite number of rooms and guests, it is highly likely both he and the boulder are already there. So he should o to the hotel where he already is and has a room
Happy comes from hap, which is essentially luck. So happy can imply lucky or fortunate. If he gets to the hotel and finds he already is checked into his room in an otherwise full hotel, then he is indeed lucky and likely happy.

How many carpenter bees even have a youtube channel. I bet not even one has uploaded a video covering alternatives to the Festool Domino.

- Comment on Why do Americans measure everything in cups? 2 months ago:
Cups, teaspoons, and tablespoons in this context are standardized units of measure. It is very common to find at least one set of measuring cups and spoons in a US kitchen. Scales are uncommon.
I use both. For flour, scales are far, far superior. For sugar, it does not really seem to matter. For small amounts, I suspect my tea/tablespoons might be more accurate than my scale…
Not that accuracy matters that much in a recipe using eggs. Chickens aren’t necessarily known for precision.

D… do you really want to call the police then tell them you are carrying a gun? Better to put the gun somewhere secure then tell the police where it is and let them handle it with no staff around.

Dumud can now produce High-Quality Pal Oil at the ranch
This is huge. One of the main reasons I dropped the game was the constant need to run laps through a desert farming the things.

- Comment on How many times will I tell you? 3 months ago:
That makes sense. I guess I’m the opposite. I have a habit of scrutinizing every toilet I sit on because I don’t trust placing the delicate bits over random holes…
- Comment on How many times will I tell you? 3 months ago:
I’ve never understood this… are people just blindly launching their butts at toilets? Are the lights off? Is alcohol involved?
- Comment on Physical or Digital? 3 months ago:
Do they even make physical PC games anymore? Last ones I bought were either discs that immediately downloaded an updated copy of the whole game, or the box just contained a download code.
For the switch I buy physical, but it may be the last console where that makes sense.

- Comment on Amazon pricing makes no sense. 5 months ago:
Just yesterday I discovered the prices change depending on whether or not I’m logged in. Supposedly this only happens when there are multiple sellers and Amazon favors the ones that honor prime… but I could not find the lower priced seller anywhere when logged in. Now I’m wondering if prime actually increases shipping costs because vendors just raise their overall prices to cover it… very, very close to dropping prime this year.

I’ve been pretty happy with the Ryobi 18 and 40 volt stuff. If I ever need anything fancier I’ll probably start investing in milwaukee. At some point I plan to invest into a tool storage system and milwaukee may win that decision…
For corded stuff, brand loyalty isn’t that useful. I have a dewalt portable/job site table saw I really like.
My jigsaw and circular saw are skil, so I could probably stand to upgrade, but they work well enough.
Just bought a kobalt powered screwdriver that uses usbc to charge and seems fine for household use (when a drill driver is not needed)
Still have an old dewalt drill on a dead battery platform that refuses to die.
- Comment on You can only pick one 5 months ago:
Seems easy to loophole around as well. Since the downside is “you” can only shop at Amazon, you just need someone else to do your regular shopping. Of course you could be screwed if Amazon ever shuts down.

- Comment on The Many Times The US Tried To Go Metric 8 months ago:
As I see it, the problem is that for the vast majority of people in the U.S. there is no compelling reason to change. People rarely need to convert units and rarely (but more often thanks to social media) need to talk to anyone who uses metric. I see it as a cultural quirk not unlike a dialect.
Of course for science, industry, and other situations where conversion, accuracy, and international communication are involved it very much matters and U.S. needs to use metric as much as possible.
- Comment on Striking actor Stephen Fry says his voice was stolen from the Harry Potter audiobooks and replicated by AI 9 months ago:
It gets tricky, though. For example, what if the AI was trained on recordings of voice impersonators (with consent)? We may be limited to banning companies from promoting the AI voices as being specific people…
Years ago, Moes Southwest had a problem like this. Their decor featured images of artists, but it turned out they did not have the rights and were sued. So they ran a celebrity look alike competition and used photos of the winning look alikes instead.
