- Comment on Social Security isn’t keeping up with inflation. That could weaken Biden’s support among some seniors | CNN Politics 6 months ago:
Ah the good ol’ conservative mantra. Cut spending to programs that work. Claim government doesn’t work. Cut spending even more, turn program useless, point at it as an example that government doesn’t work. Blame Government for useless program, push to “privatize” it - moving the goalposts every time people mention that you’re trying to destroy a system that worked…

So let’s see… “Not keeping up with inflation” vs “reducing it even further”…
You lack critical thinking skills.
- Comment on CNN Poll: Trump maintains lead over Biden in 2024 matchup as views on their presidencies diverge | CNN Politics 6 months ago:
The difference being – Biden voters are mostly voting for him because the alternative is Trump. The same reason everyone voted for Trump: Because Trump wasn’t Hillary.
Republicans keep pushing this anti-abortion stance, and they’re gonna lose a lot of women voters as well. We’re seeing the death-throes of a dying ideology. All because they’re mad a black man became president in the first place.
Trump doesn’t end up winning in this next election cycle; I live in a deeeeeeep red area that was once blue in the past – many here have become Never-Trumpers, despite being hardcore repubs. He’s gonna lose again, and everyone will remember that there are good reasons that we don’t run losers in the presidential race a second time…

Our supreme court is packed with corporate lackeys. As much as I love this, it’ll be overturned. It is a move in the right direction - you should not be allowed to take away someone’s right to move jobs.

I guess you didn’t see the part where they basically argued that their family member was on both ends of the spectrum simultaneously.

Fuck this. Torx, Hex, square drive are all positive engagement. Phillips is literally designed to cam out. Slotted is just the first head type to have existed because of how easy it is to make, but is far inferior to every other type.

I mean, if they can operate facebook without an issue, they can operate whatsapp, signal, and others. You’re not the only one with autistic family, and we managed to migrate from facebook just fine.

That’s what you get for using Facebook. All of those people could change too, but they won’t until you leave and they are forced to get ahold of you with other methods. Everyone who uses this shitty excuse “but other people!” are the reason they haven’t crashed and burned already.
- Comment on This laptop released in 2016 no longer receive OS updates. Which means I can't update Chrome Browser 7 months ago:
I use this bios on CN62 Chromeboxes as an alternative to a Raspberry Pi; it’s faster, can be found cheaper, is available widely on ebay cheap, has proper NVME ports, and has an X86 processor. They make great little reverse proxies, etc.

- Comment on Apple doesn't put the identifier in the Passkey, so when storing multiple ones you don't know which one is related to which Apple ID.. 7 months ago:
So shouldn’t you have 2 separate keys/accounts then?
- Comment on Apple doesn't put the identifier in the Passkey, so when storing multiple ones you don't know which one is related to which Apple ID.. 7 months ago:
Pretty sure that’s also accounted for, by buying multiple keys. Each person gets their own login, key, duplicate key for backup (placed somewhere offsite).
They don’t want you backing up someone elses key on your account. Again; the idea being that each person has 1 of these things. If you need a backup Yubi-Key, they want you to be buying a literal duplicate key; not having your ‘backups’ on someone elses key.
- Comment on Apple doesn't put the identifier in the Passkey, so when storing multiple ones you don't know which one is related to which Apple ID.. 7 months ago:
Pretty sure the idea is that you only ever have 1 apple ID.
- Comment on Not buying a shaver from Philips again.. 7 months ago:
Exactly. It’s going to be the most uncommon thing though. Convenient in an emergency if somehow you have a spare PC for charging and not a USB-C power brick…somehow…
But there’s not enough people doing it to justify what this guy is suggesting.
- Comment on Not buying a shaver from Philips again.. 7 months ago:
Then you should refine your laws. Because my shavers all use USB C; and the EU has mandated USBC in specific products, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to expand that.
- Comment on Lay them on me 7 months ago:
Nah, nobody talks about LLMs. If I approached an average, everyday person about this topic, 99% of them wouldn’t know shit about it, while the tech-nerds all would.
It’s not mainstream at alllll yet.
- Comment on Not buying a shaver from Philips again.. 7 months ago:
You’re right, it totally is. Almost nobody uses it. For good reason; it’s prone to noise, slow speeds, circuit division, and licensing costs.
- Comment on Not buying a shaver from Philips again.. 7 months ago:
I think you may have a horrible misunderstanding about how the real world works. As well as the specifics of USB-PD, and other such things.
- Comment on Not buying a shaver from Philips again.. 7 months ago:
Why would I need to? 110v outlets aren’t regularly equipped with Data transfer capability.

It’s capable of data transfer…but to a power brick in the wall?
- Comment on Not buying a shaver from Philips again.. 8 months ago:
Having experience with electromechanics - I have seen times where this was done on purpose to make sure that people aren’t trying to reuse an incompatible plug for charging purposes. NiCd doesn’t charge the same as LiFePo, Li-ion, etc. Charging voltages, polarities, stability of power output, etc.
- Comment on Diablo 4, Terra Invicta, and Lightyear Frontier headline the next wave of PC Game Pass additions 8 months ago:
Does anyone care about this game any more? Blizzard got their whale-money, and destroyed all of the consumer appreciation they had gained over the years with this shit. The developers don’t even play their own game.

- Comment on What is the word for someone who is friends with different groups but doesn't have loyalty to any one group? 8 months ago:
Why? If they’re Ex-cons, they’ve done their time and they deserve to be treated the same as everyone else.
They’re a perfect group to use in my example.
- Comment on What is the word for someone who is friends with different groups but doesn't have loyalty to any one group? 8 months ago:
You’re actively having people ask who their friends are, and they’re being guarded about it.
If you felt like you might be kicked out of a group of friends that you really liked, because of your association with someone THEY didn’t like; wouldn’t you be a little guarded too?
