- Comment on Bumper sticker 1 week ago:
Far from the most egregious example, but I was hanging out at a buddy’s place one day, and given the parking situation, a couple of our cars were awkwardly parked on the side of the road. It wasn’t much a problem for drivers, but we were both illegally parked according to the law, both taking up similar amounts of road space, with both cars being roughly the same size.
The only car that was ticketed was the car with the trans flag bumper sticker.
Cops are certainly bothered by their existence, at least here in the southeast.
Ask a trans person, they’re going to have at least one story of somebody taking issue with them existing while trans. Usually multiple.

If I had a dollar for every FPS game taking place in 80s Czechoslovakia, I’d have two dollars. That’s not much, but it’s weird it’s happened twice.
- Comment on I had to install directx 9 to run gta 4 on windows 11 2 months ago:
The game doesn’t support DirectX 12 because the game is younger than DirectX 12.

I think I get what they’re saying. Basically “What if we collectively sought to bring each other up instead of engaging in competitive individualism?”

Yes, and the reasoning behind why it’s considered such is also detailed in the link itself. I figured I’d leave that link as a way for folks to read into it and learn where the claim originated from.

Which is exactly what I wanted to clear up with the Snopes link.

I vaguely recall having heard that before of somewhere out in eastern Asia, but I can’t recall where at. I’d be curious to see what that’s about.

First one that I heard that comes to my mind is Super Smash TV on the SNES.
“BIG MONEY. BIG PRIZES. I LOVE IT.”
“I’D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR.”
“GOOD LUCK. YOU’LL NEED IT.”
- Comment on Does AAAA just mean awful triple A games now? 3 months ago:
Oh hey, I forgot about that game’s existence until now. It’s name is so generic I used to accidentally call it Sea of Thieves, cause that’s a more memorable name. Also a more memorable game.

Love the taste of 'em, but onions also give me awful gag reflex to the point I need to have them removed from my food. Otherwise I risk vomiting on the spot D:

When somebody reads “No, I’m not interested” as “tell me more,” I become less likely to be as polite about matters. No means No, and if you keep pushing I’m gonna be as blunt as I need to be.

Last time a recruiter harassed me via text he tried to convince me of all the kickass benefits and fun of being in the military. Straight up just told him “Dude, if you put a gun in my hand, you’re going to be responsible for a suicide. Not happening.” For some reason he never replied.
- Comment on This Ace Attorney collection is about to disappear from Steam, so grab it while you can (and cheap, for the next week) 7 months ago:
I’ve only played the original trilogy, but they’re fantastic. It’s undeniably a visual novel, but with no sex and, shockingly, actual gameplay. Plus fun characters, great court cases, and a fantastic soundtrack. Truly the best games to make you feel like anime Columbo.

- Comment on Anon has an asexual gf 8 months ago:
Sexuality in general is best seen as a spectrum, and that even applies to asexuality. I’ve met folks who only find sexual attraction in people they are intimately familiar with (can’t whack the nasty with any random people, they gotta trust and be comfortable and familiar with a partner). Others have a complete lack of sexual interest and arousal. I, myself, do have an active libido, but no actual interest in sex itself thanks to bad events in my past.
- Comment on When a cave has better wifi than I do 8 months ago:
The first one I worked at has VOIP phones on the trails in case of emergencies, and you can easily hop on it during a tour. If you’ve ever been in the southeast US you’ve probably seen signs advertising the waterfall cave.
… A waterfall that’s pumped, mind.
