  I play on PC, last console I owned was Sega Saturn. I have a few physical copies but most of my games are on steam and Gog. a friend who plays in console and perceive as normal Sony’s practices, asked what’s the difference between how he choose to play and me: I shared with him the example, some time ago rockstar delisted the original 3d GTA trilogy. Its not available in any digital platforms as an option to buy, but I still have them and play actually.

  Then I shared with him the amazing indie games, he can buy for cheap, and the recurring sales. And let him know that on Sony’s ecosystem, they won’t have this flexibility, they will set dynamic prices, lock people out without any easy way to appeal.

  It dawned on him, finally. Yesterday he shared Dammit Jeff’s video advising to turn auto update on ps5 off. Like him, there’s a lot of players misinformed of the consequences of consoles tyranny.

  i still added myself to the raffle queue. even thou the price is steep, I still see it as an option in the diy PC building landscape. it’s a PC, free from the console ecosystem, I can install any os I want, games from my gog library, emulate freely, all in a tiny quiet box.

  i think this price is not what they intended, and in the bigger picture valve is tiny compared to console manufacturers, they can’t get deals in hardware like they can.

  I also think valve could sell as option a version with no storage and memory, lower price, it would fit the diy/options community like a glove

  Launchers allow you to have a customised UI, maybe you don’t want to have a Google search bar in you home screen, the default UI doesn’t allow you to change it, a launcher does. What about changing order of icons, maybe you want your icons to shape the capital letter F, with a launcher you can, or you know that real gangstas use IBM Plex Mono instead of Roboto, you ain’t nobody’s bitch, a launcher helps you with that

  why are people hating on a builder who designed something that a large number of gamers want? This can possibly be the catalyst for valve do give us that sweet pus*-controller we all want. I know I do! I use both my steam deck as controllers and it’s awesome. This video is inspiring
