- Comment on Assassin's Creed is a "forever brand" because Ubisoft supported huge risks with it, ex director says: "Whereas, say, EA, you get these awful execs and they never made games and they came from toothpaste companies" 2 days ago:
That and the risktaking bit give the headline two rofl’s
- Comment on Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection gets Steam Deck Verified ahead of release 1 week ago:
I am pretty miffed because I have an earlier version of this collection that they stopped supporting and delisted.

I mean I pay it and the free games are all that keep me from hating it
- Comment on 1 week ago:
I hope it inspires Sony to follow suit. In the 2020s paying for multiplayer access is absurd.
- Comment on Only one in 50 bike thefts result in a charge, shocking figures reveal 1 week ago:
That is shocking - I mean that even one in 50 is charged. In my experience the cops are like, sorry, nothing we can do.

But why? They are barely supporting the current hardware.

Gen X, the least worst generation
- Comment on Did Border Control exist in previous eras? (Say, like 500+ years ago or more) Can people go to other places? If so, what does the procedure look like? Just walk across a border? 3 weeks ago:
I was surprised while reading German 20th century history that people were required to check in even in new towns. Explain their reasons for being there and how long they were going to stay. This was even if you were German. I would love to know more but it seemed like a less formal system - lile you had ID but it helped if you knew people there and or had good reason to be there and plans for when you were leaving.
- Comment on [META] Is it ok to ask for advice here? 3 weeks ago:
I have lots of experience with this but to keep it brief for now I would start with checking the visa requirements of the destination country. I have a friend who was going to move and after he arrived learned that he cannot apply for a work visa while in the country.

- Comment on Could a minority in US Senate essentially disolve the federal state? 4 weeks ago:
And to add to that, the Republicans can remove the Senate veto at literally any time with a simple majority vote so it’s clear they think it still serves them to leave it in place. They will remove it when/if that calculus changes.
- Comment on More Online CO-OP Games should have option to pause 4 weeks ago:
I’m hooked on Nightreign right now. It would be pretty nice if there was a special pause ping you could do that paused the game if the other two players agreed with reply pings.
- Comment on whatever happened to in-store coffee grinders? 5 weeks ago:
Many, at least half, of my local stores still have one though I ended up getting a grinder partly because I can never remember which for sure.

At the risk of getting downvoted I gotta say there is some excellent weird stuff on that same level that was created with the help of AI tools. There are some artists out there with actual talent and creativity using genAI.
It’s a damn shame that it’s drowned out by the very real and very overwhelming amount of slop. I keep hoping the creeps that flood the internet with that crap get bored of it so it’s easier for actually creative stuff to rise to the top.
- Comment on Cable management is an art form 1 month ago:
Yeah if you never have to be the one to open it up again and pull stuff apart again then sure. But I’m sure as hell not going to cut and redo zip ties the 4-5 times a year I’m in there adding or changing out something.

- Comment on Hollow Knight: Silksong Sparks Debate About Difficulty and Boss Runbacks 1 month ago:
You can make the case that it’s not a fun use of our time but how is it not tied to difficulty? Being able to get to the boss with enough health or consummables is certainly part of the intended challenge.
- Comment on Missouri voters expanded paid sick leave. The Missouri Legislature undid it, and the repeal just took effect 2 months ago:
Truly! It would be a start to at least TRY to explain to these people that the upper class is waging open war.
