- Comment on Is there a way to hide individual threads? 1 year ago:
3rd party Android apps like
Infinity (no shortcut though, needs 2 clicks, 3 Dot settings > Hide Read Posts, I also am not sure if it has Mark Posts as read upon scroll).
Voyager, and Sync has these.
Connect has Mark Posts as Read upon Scroll, but doesn’t have Hide Read Posts button.

- Comment on What movie had a trailer that was totally misleading about the premise of the film? 1 year ago:
I think it might be my favourite too. it’s between that and Uncut Gems.
Anger Management with Jack Nicholson was good too.
- Comment on What movie had a trailer that was totally misleading about the premise of the film? 1 year ago:
to each his own I guess. He’s not my favourite actor, not even my favourite comedy actor (that goes to the late Robin Williams). But he makes decent movies, especially his old ones. The new ones, especially if produced by his studio Happy Madison, are formulaic and bland.
Why do you hate him with fiery passion?
- Comment on What movie had a trailer that was totally misleading about the premise of the film? 1 year ago:
I didn’t watch the trailers for it, but Click by Adam Sandler was supposedly marketed as another Adam Sandler comedy but was actually tearjerker drama with a medium heavy sprinkle of comedy.
- Comment on Can Someone Explain Gemini (2017) to Me? 1 year ago:
I did some digging around and someone theorized that Heather was being stalked by the superfan. That’s why Heather felt like her life was in danger (well she said she felt like that all the time, but maybe the stalker situation was her boiling point).
Heather asked for Jill’s gun because she intended to murder the superfan and set it up as self defense. (It’d be easy to call out the superfan by messaging her through instagram)
Thoughts?
Writing it out though I saw a simple flaw. If Heather directly messaged the superfan, the superfan would’ve instantly messaged her friends or posted something.

- Comment on Anybody Else Heard of Death to Smoochy (2002)? 1 year ago:
Maybe a super clip (is that the right term?) of all the Rainbow Randolph and Smoochy the Rhino scenes could be a good show for kids.
- Comment on Anybody Else Heard of Death to Smoochy (2002)? 1 year ago:
Yeah he was definitely a good “villain” in One Hour Photo, he was eery to say the least.
I’ve watched most of Robin Williams’ films and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
My favourite, by far, is still Dead Poets Society.

- Comment on I keep seeing the initials "ig" in comments. They clearly don't mean "Instagram". What does "ig" mean then? 1 year ago:
I guess, it means.

- Comment on The more I think about it, the more the 5 minute car commercial in Barbie bugs me. 1 year ago:
Maybe OP thought that the car chase happened so that they can make an ad for Chevrolet. (Which could be true, and I think had happened to other movies.)
But I think what usually happens is the car chase is already in the script and the production reached out to car brands that are interested in sponsoring the movie. Then adding some glorious shots where the brand is obviously visible and the center of focus to accomplish the advertisement and gain revenue.

maybe it was when the mom rescued Barbie from the board of directors?

The citizens are indirectly affected because public services funds are reduced and/or taxes are increased. I understand now, thank you.

- Comment on Why the ‘Barbie’ Magic Won’t Be Easy to Recapture 1 year ago:
I’d argue the toy part was relevant for the marketing of the movie. If you change everything to a fictional toy called Narnie, probably no one would watch it even if the movie would probably still be the same.
Barbenheimer marketing helped too.
The point still stands though, movie about toys=! success.

- Comment on Why is Hugging Allowed in Boxing? 1 year ago:
but if they remove it or at least penalize to deter hugging, wouldn’t the athletes just adapt?
- Comment on Why is Hugging Allowed in Boxing? 1 year ago:
I know the referees pull them out of the hug but it’s just not good when the fighters finally got close enough to go blow for blow then they hug and all the action dies down.
