- Comment on US Border Agents Are Asking for Help Taking Photos of Everyone Entering the Country by Car 1 month ago:
A shame wired didn’t link the direct RIF. Maybe someone more motivated could search sam.gov for this RIF and share the primary contact, and where to send inquiries. It would be wrong for us to submit inquires along the nature such as “is requiring each individual crossing the border to watch the entirety of the Bee Movie acceptable?”
The inbox of the customs and border patrol agent responsible should absolutely not be filled with such inquires that they are required by law to respond to.
- Comment on If it's good enough to keep your house warm, it's good enough to keep your insides warm 1 month ago:
The bunks are full on Saturday morning because they fill them up after closing on Friday/ before opening Saturday. It’s much harder to close aisles on the weekend to pull down another bundle than it is when the store is closed. Source: I worked lumber/building materials for 1.5 years.
Now, given the economy and the cost of a 2x4, yeah less people are building.
- Comment on What's an example of a TV show that came out at before its time, or just at a bad time? 1 month ago:
I love this show so much, but damn is it hard to find these days. I think I found a Vimeo playlist of it once but who knows if that even exists anymore. And working in biotech makes it even better!

This implies the existence of recipes without garlic, which is a falsehood.

Damn. At that point I would just switch over to a macro. Although I also have some formulas that xlookup a value, concatenate it, and the xlookup the new concatenated value.

I told a doctor once that I got a “normal amount of headaches”. He asked me how many that was and I told him 1 or 2 a week, to which he responded “the normal amount is 0”.
I was in to see him about migraines.

I’m sure it was considered, but a console nicknamed SS was probably ruled out.
- Comment on I love my smart TV (From Mastodon) - Repost 5 months ago:
I’ve been using smart tube on my fireTV for about 6 months now and it’s amazing. No ads, so many playback options that YouTube doesn’t offer, built in sponsor block is a godsend.
- Comment on No need to boil the ocean 6 months ago:
I agree that metric is superior in almost every way, but I’m here for pedantry. 1 calorie is the amount of heat it takes to heat 1 gram of WATER 1 degree Celsius. Raw milk is slightly more dense than water so it would take a few extra calories. Cheerio.
- Comment on where the magic happens owo 6 months ago:
The bases and hot blocks are interchangable with that series. We recently upgraded to the Opus but our previous CFX96 had the T1000 touch base.
- Comment on where the magic happens owo 6 months ago:
Top left is the CFX96/384, which is also a qPCR instrument.
Bottom left is the 3500 Genetic Analyzer, as someone identified. It’s used for sanger sequencing I believe. My last lab had one but I was never trained on it.
