Funny, in my 30s I didn’t feel old 😄

Yesterday I re-watched Copycat. Part of the suspense fell on the main character not having a phone and the would-be killer cutting the land line.
It felt… weird.
And yes, it was old 😢

Your comment reveals you don’t have a clue how science works.
- Comment on Colm Meaney wanted to play O'Brien as American. “Rick Berman sat me down and said, ‘The whole notion of this show is that it’s multiracial’… I reluctantly started to play him Irish" 4 weeks ago:
That article is reason enough to like the guy, if one didn’t like him before.
- Comment on Are old people usually attracted to other old people? 4 weeks ago:
Your body is 40. You’re still 15.
- Comment on would getting back with an ex be a bad idea? 5 weeks ago:
The question is valid, but it’s also valid to remember that most of those humans will never know you, and among those who will, most won’t give a damn about you, and among those who do, very few will love you, and among those, you will love even less of them.
Even so, the number is probably not zero. But it can take some time to find out.

I want to believe that, unless you’re financially dependent, you went fully No Contact.
- Comment on Why do people still eat beef when we know it's terrible for Earth? 3 months ago:
Because they don’t have the money and the requisite professions to leave.
- Comment on Hey is Sharing Luigi’s Manifesto on Social Media Actually "Glorifying Violence"? Because Reddit Said So 😭 3 months ago:
that’s not true
That’s how it’s perceived in the rest of the world, and USians are doing a lousy job of showing that the perception is wrong, so…
- Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
Without well adjusted and cared for children our society is fucked.
Sadly I’d say that most of those who have children today don’t have a clue about how to raise such kids, because they’re neither well adjusted nor cared for. Some self-centered societies are much worst than others in that respect.
- Comment on How would you forgive someone that poisoned your dog when they only offer bad faith apology ? 3 months ago:
I would not.
Most apologies are lies anyway.
- Comment on Hey is Sharing Luigi’s Manifesto on Social Media Actually "Glorifying Violence"? Because Reddit Said So 😭 3 months ago:
Well, advocating for common decency doesn’t work in the US. USians only understand arguments that use bullets.

The victims feel worse.
- Comment on What is your happiest Trek related memory/ies? 4 months ago:
TOS’ Dagger of the Mind and What Are Little Girls Made Of? made me know, at 10 ,that I really liked petite shapely dark haired women.
Then again, years later, Dagger of the Mind made me notice that I liked mind control fantasies…

On my country (AR) you can express your decision when you renew your mandatory national ID.

We did this for my dad, amd my mom will follow, I think.
Some burocracy (and educating burocrats, as the law allowing for this in my country 🇦🇷 is recent) but it’s worth to do something useful of oneself after death while not enriching the post-mortem mafia.
Of course both my brother and I want the same for ourselves.
- Comment on Is it possible to have a "free speech" platform that simultaneously stops "hate speech"? 4 months ago:
The free speech absolutism is useless in practice.
- Comment on [deleted] 4 months ago:
To be fair, the ethos of those countries as a whole is different from other places like the US. Some places, I think, are inherently unsafe for euthanasia.
- Comment on Trump's eligibility 5 months ago:
Because his voters didn’t consider the victims human in the first place.
- Comment on Trump's eligibility 5 months ago:
I think Americans need to realise that Trump won by popular vote
That mean that most USians are appalling people.
As a Latin-American suffering for decades the consequences of US foreign policies, I’m not surprised.
- Comment on Do deaf people play media with sound on? 6 months ago:
The proper course of action would be to translate the foreign language and add those subtitles in italics.

A relationship defined in their own learned psychopathic terms.

Yeah, I don’t care anymore. I just use a few smile emoji, and the facepalm one, because I never found a satisfactory emoticon for it.

Same as emoticons did, now with Unicode Consortium approval! 😁
- Comment on The justices of the supreme court ruled that Trump was immune and effectively above the law while being president. What is now stopping Biden from bringing a gun to the next debate? 9 months ago:
I always think these movies end being used as instruction manuals.
- Comment on Star Trek Is Showing More Love To Scott Bakula’s Enterprise 9 months ago:
Is Threshold worse than Code of Honor?
I’d say it’s worst. Being racist is horrible, but it wasn’t until “Threshold” that ST became actively and willingly stupid.
- Comment on Star Trek Is Showing More Love To Scott Bakula’s Enterprise 9 months ago:
If not the most imaginative, certainly the most inspiring, and it evokes a strong insertion in our reality.
- Comment on Dr. Pulaski Appreciation Post 10 months ago:
I think obvious that she would have sided with Maddox and disagreed with the ruling. I don’t think her capable of overcoming her prejudices against artificial life forms.

- Comment on As someone who is aging. Late thirties. How can I keep my finger on the pulse of current trends, particularly in music? 11 months ago:
Alls I can say is you’re listening to the wrong kind of music is you think all current music is vapid.
And all I can say is that your reading comprehension is lacking if you attribute me saying that all music is valid. I said “mostly”.
It’s honestly quite arrogant to think great artists stopped at our generation my guy.
And I had said so, I would agree. I, however, didn’t.
In any case, if music is your main focus, you could have used more prominence in the question, because your formulation seemed to indicate that there were other things you wanted to “keep up with” too. If I had understood that music was your primary focus, I would have abstained from participating. Which I will start doing right now.
