Thanks! That’s what I wanted to know, I’ve been eyeing the game and interested in getting it. I think I’ve even seen it on gog, so that’s great!

How’s the game nowadays? I think I recall the game having some issues when it came out, assuming it’s true, are they all now resolved?

The story was difficult to follow, for me, and plays a significant role in the game and is likely to influence your decisions. What I wish I did and what I recommend you, is make sure you pay close attention to it in the beginning, knowing who’s who, who’s battling who and why. Consider taking notes haha

It’s impressive how this initiative has gathered 360k votes in no time yet completely stagnated ever since. I don’t think it means that the initiative is done, actually I am quite optimistic it can pass, but these things go in waves. I think every time there is a new coverage on the initiative it launches it higher, we just need some folks who have some local presence in the EU to get their audience to act. Perhaps some famous video game streamers? Has that been done already?
- Comment on Denmark is the 6th country to pass the #StopKillingGames EU threshold - 340K out of 1M signatures in total! 2 months ago:
And the Netherlands are 6th! But the hardest part will be reaching that Million threshold… We still have a lot of time, but the pace has certainly slowed down the last few weeks compared to the skyrocketing in the early days. I think we will need to have more awareness spread around the campaign, perhaps try to reach mainstream media in some ways…
- Comment on An important update on Concord 2 months ago:
The age of DRM means that they can now “unlaunch” the game and force you into a reimbursement while giving up the game. Why? What if someone liked it and wanted to keep playing? is this an online only game? This is just sad.

Loved this game and the story. The second half of the game is where it really become interesting! I remember that mission in the screenshot :)
- Comment on #StopKillingGames Update: Sweden and Poland pass threshold as initiative reaches 25% 3 months ago:
This is going very well it seems! I see the next few countries close to passing the threshold are:
- Denmark (88%)
- Netherlands (87%)
- Germany (75%)
Assuming we get those, we would need one more country. The highest remaining country is Ireland (55%). Getting all those still wouldn’t reach 1M signatures, but the rest could keep being distributed across the EU (even including countries which have already passed the threshold, I’m assuming).
This is all very exciting and gives me a lot of hope! Keep signing folks!

Yes, it seems you are right. Nonetheless, even at equal prices, isn’t it surprising?
- Comment on Steam keeps on winning 10 months ago:
I don’t have any, but I see the following: Cyperpunk 2077, which is available on steam, is cheaper than on the developer’s own platform (gog.com), despite both being at 50% off. Is there any incentive for CDPR to sell it more expensive on their platform?
- Comment on Steam keeps on winning 10 months ago:
I don’t see how any of that justifies that valve prohibits publishers from selling their games for cheaper on a platform other than steam.
If anything, the 30% cut is significant and if a developer finds a cheaper platform elsewhere, why wouldn’t he also be allowed to sell his game for cheaper there too?
It’s really dubious to see valve try to control developers market strategies on platforms other than steam.
- Comment on Steam keeps on winning 10 months ago:
It’s not about what the publisher sets as price, it’s about restricting his options.
- Comment on Steam keeps on winning 10 months ago:
I found out recently GOG was created by CD project, the same company behind CD Project Red which made The Witcher and CyberPunk. Was very glad to find out about that.
- Comment on Steam keeps on winning 10 months ago:
There is nothing exclusive to steam with respect to Linux support. All of the things required for games to run on Linux which valve support are fully open source and even existed before valve got involved. They just threw money at the efforts and turbo charged it (which is great).
- Comment on Steam keeps on winning 10 months ago:
I’m fine with them existing, but if there are clauses preventing publishers from proposing their games both on steam and elsewhere while they can’t make it cheaper elsewhere, I would like these clauses to stop. I read somewhere there are such clauses and these kind of clauses seem very uncompetitive to me and I wonder why they are legal (if they are).
- Comment on 25 FPS default to 50 Hz instead of 75 (OLED) 11 months ago:
30 fps defaults to 90 hz, where is the default frame doubling in that case?
- Comment on 25 FPS default to 50 Hz instead of 75 (OLED) 11 months ago:
You’re confusing rendering and displaying. There is no doubt that rendering at higher fps requires more power draw. But were talking here about a fixed rendering framerate of 25 fps and a case of refreshing the screen at 50 or 75 hz using the same 25 fps rendering. This is not a usual scenario so there is little info about this, hence my initial point.
- Comment on 25 FPS default to 50 Hz instead of 75 (OLED) 11 months ago:
Where did you see it draw less? And by how much? Computing 50 frames per second does draw less than computing 75, but a display to render at 50 or 75, I have not seen anything with respect to consumption, so I’m curious.
- Comment on 25 FPS default to 50 Hz instead of 75 (OLED) 11 months ago:
This is not about VRR. I am talking fixed refresh rates.
This is entirely possible because the display can perform at any refresh rate between 40 and 90. As to why 75 over 50, your second paragraph answers that.

- Comment on The death of ownership: Companies are taking away your ability to actually own the stuff you buy 1 year ago:
Ownership of games is a pretty reasonable interpretation in this context. How can ownership of games exist in a context of digital access, activation, online requirements and no physical media?

I think it’s a reasonable middle ground. Much better than outright removing the content and the warning…
