First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

- Comment on Good to exercise at home instead of gym? 5 days ago:
Personally the home workout route never worked for me. I’m sure there are a ton of people that it has worked for but I need a routine. Having a set time to go to the gym without distraction is really what broke through.
It your looking for apps to track progress check out fitnotes for exercise tracking and OmNom Notes for diet tracking. Took me a while to find good non sleazy apps
- Comment on Anyone else found Mickey 17 embarrassingly bad? (Just watched it) 1 week ago:
I haven’t seen the movie yet but enjoyed the books. They were fun and adventurous with some twists of having doppelgangers running around.
After just watching the electric state and being supremely disappointed at the direction they took, I’m not thrilled to be disappointed again with another movie messing up a good idea.

Read the books first!

Does anyone else REALLY want this crazy honey buyer to get his honey from this knowledgeable beekeeper? It’s a Lemmy matchmaking story!

A good long term relationship is mostly about being friends. If you guys already have that it’s a great start

Correct, worked great for my needed Linux commands though
- Comment on Looking to build a new htpc. This is all that ever comes up. 1 month ago:
That could be part of the issue. I recently had an issue with my raid setup through mdadm on Linux and couldn’t figure out how to restore it. Forums didn’t help and none of the commands I tried got the raid to go back together. I queried GPT and had it rebuilding within 10 min.
For anyone wondering, the trick was to force a rebuild and assume clean one of the drives then add my mirror for it to rebuild/copy.

Unpopular opinion incoming: as much as i hate it… LLM is better than search engines for finding information. It’s not always correct but neither are web results.

- Comment on is "oh boy" considered a gendered term? 4 months ago:
IMO, “oh boy” would have a definition of “wowza!” Whereas “oh girl” would have a definition of “sassy!”. In this vain, I declare “oh boy” to be gender neutral.
Same goes for “awww, maaaan”
- Comment on Could Joe Biden use his remaining time as president of the US to do away with presidential pardons? 4 months ago:
Yup. It would also be nice to have a candidate that was outspoken and fighting for things. The two party system sucks
- Comment on Could Joe Biden use his remaining time as president of the US to do away with presidential pardons? 4 months ago:
Heaven forbid the Democratic party do something outside the box or unsavory.
- Comment on if you quit a job you didn't like or was toxic, didn't the financial hit scare you? 4 months ago:
I call it “the fear”. Being unemployed or underemployed or having the risk of no income fills me with it.

I breathe harder too. My theory was the same as yours, just it’s a lot larger of a muscle. I’m not an expert though
- Comment on How do I avoid enshitification of my keyboard and mouse 5 months ago:
You could get keychron keyboard or something similar that supports open source key mapping/lighting (or just leave it as is when you get it)

I second this (beyond an up vote). It’s a hard thing to start but it does wonders for self esteem and confidence.

Gotta give us a budget and tell us what you do on your computer. I’ve been eyeing the Asus px13 but that’s only because of my specific needs

If it’s a simple otc med, maybe just grab a small bottle once you get to destination.

Because no one wants a console with ads, has no gyro aiming, strange support for older Xbox/games.

I’m not saying anyone should work without pay. I’m saying that with the way publishers release games I expect AAA releases to be unfinished works at this point.

It depends on the game. If I buy a game from a smaller publisher I expect it to be a complete work with full story line. Unfortunately… When I buy from a large publisher I expect to be getting a ¾ complete game that will give me expansion packs.
This isn’t the case with Nintendo games though. I feel like and Nintendo game is just done and any extras are… Extra.
