i appreciate this and I agree. There is a lot there about platonic dude friendships. Patriot also in its first ten eps passed the Bechdel Test, which is a low fucking bar. Two different female leads from different angles of the story confronted and befriended each other. There was so much more story to be made from that, but it was worlds better than typical tv writing.

it’s difficult to distinguish Muppets’ and Jim Henson’s works as an adult versus childhood. I loved LOVED The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth as a kid, can’t stand either of them now. And that old SNL is super cringy to watch, but sometimes it really, really hit.

Blues Brothers still checks out - for those of us who grew up on that raw early muppets and SNL vibe. not sure what it looks like to the kids.

because we have an unreliable narrator. that is no smudge on the OP, just a frustration with some of this

LOL wish I knew, because my mom makes this look silly. it would take three novels to explain. I went down to visit recently, and my sister and aunt were there, bless them, lovely people. Best advice I got is look out for those you care about. If you’re the only one left, then focus on you.

you need to talk to your partner and go to counseling forthwith.
- Comment on How does someone with no experience learn to make food? 1 year ago:
you’ll need a pot, and/or a skillet, and a source of heat. without that you’ll eat a lot of cabbage and apples, but you still need a knife. if you want to lazy up to spices: parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. there’s an old hippy song on that. and, it’s really difficult to fuck up a baked potato.

whether it’s “ranked choice” or “term limits” or “Supreme Court ethics”, can you fix any of this, in a Constitutional Framework?

well it ain’t no PG TIPS but it will make a gallon of oddly flavored water cooked in the sun, which when chilled and enhanced with fresh lemon juice and served over ice, is dope

same, but “ranked choice voting” is the reform i would prefer

nah bro. just no. third parties only win in extraordinary, and terrible scenarios. it happens. what is it you want? an extraordinary and terrible situation?
- Comment on Why do Americans keep falling for the Democrat and Republican scare mongering and propaganda? 1 year ago:
to be fair, OP did say “Democrat and Republican scare mongering (etc)”
OP suggested “it” might be due to what we we eat. also OP explained NOTHING of what they meant.
OP is categorically a stain on all this.
- Comment on When did Christians get involved in politics in USA? I was watching young Turks clip on youtube. There was an exmuslim guy he said pat Robertson forced Christians into politics. So when was it? 1 year ago:

- Comment on Sweet tea 1 year ago:
most ares of the u.s. you gotta pick one, sweet or not sweet. since I rarely if ever add sugar to anything, sweet tea is to me an excuse to drink flavored sugar water. but cheaper than soda and it doesn’t go flat.
so sweet iced tea is a perverse adulteration of a refreshing yet bitter, tasty beverage. i mean, add some lemon fer real. if i’m south of certain landmarks, i know i won’t drink tea unless i make it myself.

Phil Hartman was in the original stage show, The Pee-Wee Herman Show, which was not a kids show. And he was in the kids’ show.
