If she were a celebrity would we feel the same?
I would, yes. She’s done absolutely nothing that warrants this treatment.
The only people who should have any ill will towards her are those that are directly affected by her actions. That should be the case even if she was famous before this.
- Comment on Dying Light 1 week ago:
It feels very much like Ghost of Tsushima but there are a few small differences.
I only have two fighting stances unlocked the second being dual katanas.
You have a wolf that pops up and helps every now and then.
I’ve only played a few hours though and I can see a lot of unknown unlocks.
- Comment on Dying Light 1 week ago:
Ghost of Yotei. I’m not far in but it’s very good so far if you like Ghost of Tsushima.
- Comment on Sometimes devs intentionally punish players for struggling with the game 2 weeks ago:
Well, it can just increase the amount of ammo you have or it could put an ammo stash just around the corner.
- Comment on Sometimes devs intentionally punish players for struggling with the game 2 weeks ago:
I stopped playing Resident Evil 7 because I’d decided that the setting that I was on was too difficult and wanted to knock it down a level. It wouldn’t let me do that without restarting the game so I stopped playing.
I don’t understand why they made that decision at all.
- Comment on The show I was watching went from "Free" to "Paid" *while I was watching it* 2 weeks ago:
To play devil’s advocate:
The Netflix equivalent of this is that the show just disappears (the Marvel shows) or you get the first seasons and not the last or even the last and not the first (at one time Prime had part of Lucifer and Netflix had the rest).
The only reason that it went from free to paid (instead of just disappearing) is that they lost the licence for streaming it under Prime Video but they didn’t lose the licence for selling it.
- Comment on Cheapflation: The Kroger brand "shake and bake" seasoning no longer comes with the bag to shake it in 😠 3 weeks ago:
They’ll probably say that it’s for the environment and that you should use a reusable bag for it.
Companies are good at doing things to benefit the environment when it also benefits their bottom line.
- Comment on It turns out Saudi Arabia will own 93.4 percent of EA if the buyout goes through, which is effectively all of it 4 weeks ago:
Yeah but it isn’t really redundant (even if it could have been worded better). Someone might believe that the other shareholders have some say in how the company operates when they won’t.
So, as far as control over the company is concerned, the Saudis have 100% control even though they don’t have 100% of the shares.
- Comment on Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’ 5 weeks ago:
We used to call the code that determined NPC behaviour AI.
It wasn’t AI as we know it now but it was intended to give vaguely realistic behaviour (such as taking a sensible route from A to B).
- Comment on apparently, the T button dosent exist for some people 1 month ago:
There’s a few Ts in that comment. There are one or two people who replace “th” with that symbol in the communities that I subscribe to.
I also find it mildly infuriating.

I’ve suddenly been getting regular Windows notifications from Adobe asking me to set them as the default PDF app.
Very annoying when I use Adobe reader once a month or so to sign documents.

They didn’t say that it wouldn’t compete. They said that it wouldn’t compete on price.
- Comment on Popular Tech Youtuber Enderman looses his YouTube channel after AI error 1 month ago:
They spent billions of dollars to develop and train the AIs that they use. They’re not going to remove it for fucking up someone’s YouTube channel.
They wouldn’t remove it even if it caused someone’s death (which it probably has considering that they have been shown to be very bad at therapy and that people go to them for therapy).
- Comment on Pop-up Amazon TV ads despite charging people monthly fees for their ad-free plan. 2 months ago:
This is the same as all the games that advertise themselves as having no ads but they do have ads for in app purchases.
For some reason they don’t consider those as being ads.

Btw, has anyone here actually got hacked? I feel like the media always overexaggerates “hacking” and its mostly people just using weak passwords (user error), not really hacking.
It’s more likely to be that they found out your login credentials, yes.
They might find a site with crappy security where they can try many usernames and passwords without getting blocked or they might actually hack the site and get the password list.
Having a strong password, not reusing passwords and enabling MFA goes a long way towards protecting against those scenarios.

So when mum calls to ask if we need milk, she’sa villain!
It’s all about levels.
It’s entirely different to have a 30 second conversation about picking up milk compared to joining a work meeting.
Especially when that work meeting is a video call that is distracting the driver (they are looking at the phone in the picture).
There are definitely those that would ban all phone calls when driving.

Goat’s cheese and caramelised red onion is a good topping. The goat’s cheese doesn’t replace the mozzarella though.
I’m not sure that Wensleydale would work though.

- Comment on Old gamers don't understand what mobile gaming has become 5 months ago:
My point is that you need to decide which games to play and that you have already judged a game when you decide not to play it.
You might not like the art style, or the gameplay, or the reviews or whatever but you have definitely judged it without playing it. The only other alternative is to literally download and play every game that you see.
- Comment on Old gamers don't understand what mobile gaming has become 5 months ago:
If you can’t be bothered to actually try what you’re criticizing, you have zero business judging it. That’s not opinion—that’s ignorance.
If there are 700,000 games then you must judge games without trying them. Otherwise you’d be constantly playing games to see if they’re any good and would still not get through them all.

They don’t have Edge installed so they are being requested to get it so that they can open the link.
- Comment on Even in android Microsoft is still trying to get you to use edge 6 months ago:
Lots of apps override the default behaviour when opening links and ask you to use a specific browser. I actually do use Edge and have been asked if I wanted to use Chrome.

They are competitors on a personal level as many people only have the time or money to fit one of them into their lives. But by that definition cycling or golfing is also a competitor and nobody would write an article about how golfing beat the Steam Deck.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2 is now in preproduction, CD Projekt says 7 months ago:
I don’t follow games before release so I wasn’t disappointed by missed promises and really enjoyed it.
The first that I heard of it was how buggy it was so I left it until people were saying the bugs were mostly fixed before getting it on sale.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2 is now in preproduction, CD Projekt says 7 months ago:
I don’t think that the NPC behaviour was the problem but the fact that they promised more. The NPCs didn’t feel significantly different to those in other games for me.
