- Comment on Can you draw a perfect circle? 1 week ago:
It didn’t take long but they have fixed that now. You can’t do a dot as you have to draw a circle around the dot they have.
- Comment on Inn english their our know rules, 2 weeks ago:
We would definitely pronounce our as “are” in some cases., usually when referring to a person. “Our kid” or “Our Jack” would have been pronounced “are”.

That bed is a Murphy bed that folds up into that cabinet at the head of the bed. The straps aren’t to hold a person in place, they hold the mattress and bedding in place when it’s packed away.
- Comment on Pay us, or let us sell your info to 1200 partners 1 month ago:
I always find the statement “we care about your privacy” to be a bit meaningless when they then say that they’ll share data with 100s of partners.

That’s what I’m thinking. The homeowner installed it to fake meeting code.
- Comment on Jedi Survivor could have been great 2 months ago:
You’re right about the glowy baseball bats but I think that Jedi combat is a tough one to pull off well. You can force pull any of the lower enemies into a one shot with the light sabre as it is and there’s no reason that you shouldn’t be able to do that with all human sized enemies that aren’t force users except that it would make for a dull game.
The loot is shit but I don’t know what more a Jedi needs other than armour or blasters but they don’t really use them. It is very weird that I had to find something in a box for me to get the idea to not shave my beard so close.
- Comment on What are your favorite racing games? 2 months ago:
Wipeout 2048 was my favourite of all time and is available in the Wipeout Omega Collection. I wouldn’t say that it’s better than the more recent titles but it was just the one that grabbed me.
I also really liked:
- Dirt Rally was ace on the PSVR
- Burnout Paradise
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted (the second one)
- Comment on What's your favorite controller? 2 months ago:
When I played games on my PC I ended up spending more time configuring my Steam controller than I did playing the game.
A classic example of perfect being the enemy of good.

I don’t see the problem with this search result. You searched for Lemmy clients and the first link gives a list of Lemmy clients for Android. It happens to be on Reddit but it does match your search.
- Comment on I remember a time where you would get multiple results from a search with no scrolling 3 months ago:
Yes, but their edit says that it shouldn’t take so long to get to IMDB which is what I was commenting on.
The fact that there is only one result is awful.
- Comment on I remember a time where you would get multiple results from a search with no scrolling 3 months ago:
That’s Amazon’s way of working. They push the content that they want you to use over what you want to use.
- Comment on I remember a time where you would get multiple results from a search with no scrolling 3 months ago:
In fairness, IMDB is right there on the first info card.
- Comment on Do you prefer RTS or Turn based tactics 3 months ago:
I’m like that too. I can’t think or move fast enough for RTS but don’t have the patience for really thinking things through in turn based games.
Maybe the in between would be turn based with a time limit per turn.

I guess that you had an agreement that specified how you were to cancel the contract.
It’s not really a good idea to just stop paying companies that you have an agreement with because you could get reported as a non-payer which could affect your credit rating.

I have had many cats and have never had a problem with them grabbing the toilet paper.
- Comment on As Anyone Ever? 5 months ago:
I used to hate that they had a consent option and a legitimate interest option for the same thing. It wasn’t clear what would happen if I agreed to one and not the other.
Then they started being explicit and saying that these “partners” require consent and these others require you to object to their legitimate interest and now I hate it more because there are hundreds of these “partners”.
- Comment on The current state of auto insurance: shit that belongs on a shady Kickstarter from 2013 5 months ago:
There was a piece on a fairly recent Smashing Security podcast that said that some car manufacturers are sending data to the insurance companies anyway.

I completed this game and thought to myself “I’ve never heard of that 7 letter game” 😂
- Comment on Former Square Enix exec on why Final Fantasy sales don’t meet expectations and chances of recouping insane AAA budgets 5 months ago:
They seem to have things backwards.
You don’t set expected sales based on the cost of development. You set the cost of development based on the expected sales.

I do drink frequently when I go cycling or walking.
- Comment on Lots of times the restaurants won't even have milk 5 months ago:
Just because it’s essential for life doesn’t mean that people have to like it. I really don’t like drinking water unless it’s just out of the fridge or cooler. I always add cordial to it.
- Comment on Stellaris gets a DLC about AI that features AI-created voices, director insists it's 'ethical' and 'we're pretty good at exploring dystopian sci-fi and don't want to end up there ourselves' 6 months ago:
I find it to be very off putting that Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t have voice actors for the main character.
There are so many different races that would have different voices and different accents that it wouldn’t be financially viable to do that with voice actors either.
- Comment on Yes, you cannot, so to do it do like this 6 months ago:
If you want to experience frustration try getting your business verified on Facebook if Facebook haven’t already decided that your business needs to be verified.
All we want is to integrate WhatsApp with our support desk software but you can’t do that without your business being verified. It’s a b2b company so we have no use for Facebook other than for this purpose which means that they won’t flag us as needing verification and there’s no way to contact them about it.

I like how page one says not to wear masks because they are bad put page 2 implies that you must wear a mask because getting the vaccine won’t allow you to not wear masks.
- Comment on I have unlimited cellular data on my phone but not if I use it as a hotspot. 7 months ago:
Yeah. You have unlimited data but they don’t want you to actually use that.
They take the risk that you’re not going to use more than they want you to from your phone but it is very likely that you’ll use it from your computer or if you connect multiple devices to your phone.
I find the idea to be reasonable because they can’t actually supply everyone with unlimited data but they really shouldn’t be calling it unlimited if there are any limits.
- Comment on Windows 10 and its shortage of "Never shove this screen in my face again" buttons 7 months ago:
If the computer is owned by a company or institution they shouldn’t see this anyway. They should either be using Microsoft work or school accounts or they should be using local accounts and the admin should set the required registry settings for them.
I think that they could be using their own computer but they have to use Windows to be able to use whatever Respondus is.
- Comment on What's your favorite game that you will NEVER finish? 10 months ago:
I used to like playing hard games but I’m done with them now. I don’t have the skill to complete them without putting a lot of time in and I don’t have the time anymore.
Returnal was fantastic and Sifu was even more fun but I’ll never finish either of them.

It says in the email that you can pay extra for ad free.
- Comment on Chrome thinks Firefox is unsafe! 10 months ago:
At work, we subscribe to Microsoft Defender so that we get a centralised view of potential security issues on people’s computers.
It’s always saying that there’s something wrong with Chrome and it never alerts about the same issues that are almost certainly a problem with Edge.
That’s mildly infuriating too.

It was amazing on PSVR with the aim controller.
