- Comment on Anyone going to Pax? What are you looking forward to? 2 weeks ago:
Oh thank you! I had a great time, I didn’t expect as many people to come through and play it. I had set up carnival music to entice players, but never got a chance to use it as there was always a line, which was neat. Which game at PAX was your favourite?
- Comment on Australia detects the first case of the highly transmissible COVID-19 strain dubbed XEC 5 weeks ago:
I caught covid at PAX last weekend, but I couldn’t figure out how to report it. Even if the populace has stopped caring about covid, you’d think the government would still be putting in some effort.

- Comment on Victoria sees record fall in rental stock as investors leave the state 5 weeks ago:
Renters have to pay for their own water. I’ve lived in rentals for 15 years, and never saw a landlord do “upgrades” on my house. Didn’t stop them from upping the prices every opportunity they could. I’ll give you rates and repairs, although if landlords hadn’t scalped all the properties I’m sure people could afford to shop around to buy a better built property.
- Comment on Victoria sees record fall in rental stock as investors leave the state 5 weeks ago:
But who’s fault is that? That’s right, the investors/landlords who scalped all the houses, making supply scarce and causing prices to increase.
Owning more than two (and I’d argue more than one) properties should be illegal.
- Comment on Hope I won't regret this: Does anyone here live in a van? 5 weeks ago:
My brother has lived in one for about 3 years now, built it himself from a Ford Transit. He does exceptionally well with ladies and a van has had no impetus on that.
He tried living in Sydney but it was apparently horrific, what with the aggressive parking laws and terrible road layouts. He’s vowed never to return.
I’d argue his diet isn’t great, as he doesn’t have much room to make varied colourful meals, but he doesn’t seem to order takeout so maybe it’s not that bad.
He’s incredibly social and performs in theatre’s throughout Melbourne, van life didn’t seem to hamper that. Everyone seems to want to hang out in his cosy RGB wood panelled surprisingly clean funk wagon. He’s 27 and saving a boat load of cash.

I dunno, I’m kinda of two minds. On one hand, it’s definitely good to know the breadth of the LGBT+ community, for further policy decisions and what have you - ALL info is good info.
On the other hand, what business does the government have knowing what I do in the privacy of my bedroom? Aside from the legal aspects of sexuality which I believe are fairly equal now (marriage laws, adoption laws etc), why do they wanna know who I’m blasting nuts into?

Ooh I’ll be showing off my booth! I got a spot in the indie section for my Musical comedy RPG Game Over, but as a solo dev it’s a bit nerve racking. If you come find me and mention Lemmy I’ll give you whatever merch I have. If I don’t have merch I might have to give you the computer or something, just to keep my word.
- Comment on Maybe this is better for everyone 2 months ago:
Vegan diets are popular in third world countries because they’re considerably cheaper. Meat is cheap in western countries because it’s very often subsidized by governments. Meat consumption by wealth proves eating animals is a luxury.
Also veganism mantras always have “as far as is practicable”. I bought a Samsung phone because Fairphones don’t work here in Australia.

OP is referring to the word “Nazi” when referring to “the N word”.
- Comment on Me and a friend of mine were having a discussion on the holocaust and got banned for mentioning the N word. This is not the first time in games. How come they censor it? 3 months ago:
SquigglyEmpire is trying to say that “the N word” typically refers to a derogatory word for black people, not for Nazi.
Video games would probably ban you for saying Nazi because it’s a nasty thing to call someone or be called. It probably isn’t relevant to the game and it’s a topic they’d probably prefer not to have discussed.
- Comment on Does voting for Biden change anything if I live in a deep red area of my state? (Ohio) 3 months ago:
Here in Australia, our voting system means you can’t waste a vote. If whoever I vote for doesn’t win, my vote gets shifted to the next on my list.
Every year I vote for the Animal Justice Party, Environment Australia, Progressive Unity etc. They never win, but my vote is still registered as having gone to them. Eventually my vote shifts along and either lands on the greens who win my electorate, or labour. But they’ll still see that the Animal Justice Party DID get a lot of votes, and maybe the Greens or Labour will focus more on animal based policy.
If 49% of your American electorate votes blue, maybe your right wing winner will try to appeal to that sizeable demographic by not being so horribly right wing.

Matthew Broderick in the Lion King. How can James Earl Jones - The Lion, give birth to such a pissant little voice? How could the pride rally behind the trembling call of twinky soft-boy Broderick? Matthew can play the voice of the awkward teenager Simba that crosses the bridge in the Hakuna Matata song, and that’s IT.
