- Comment on UK road safety push could see mandatory eye tests for older drivers 1 week ago:
I dunno about everyone, but after a certain age definitely. 70 seems good, maybe slightly younger. Once you’re retiring you probably need to be reassessed and then regularly reassessed as you age.
My mum is mid-70s and I think it’s kinda insane that she passed her test in the late 1950’s and is still able to drive legally. She’s got a much larger car than she’s ever been used to and can barely see over the steering wheel, and her reactions are terrible and she’s increasingly hesitant (which is often what leads to crashes).

He’s foreign secretary. Being diplomatic and forming relationships with our partners is kind of his job…

Ha, Tim Pool the guy who claims he didn’t refuse he was being funded by Russian disinformation organisations. Classic right wing dolt.

Bet the right wingers are going wild over Muhammed being at the top.
For those “concerned” it’s important to remember these three facts -
- Statistics means that if 5 boys in 95 are named Muhammed, it’s going to be one of the most popular names
- Many cultures name their sons a variation of Muhammed, but they go by their second name mostly
- Muhammed has been one of the most common names on the planet for several decades now
I’m more confused by Noah being so popular. What’s brought that on?
- Comment on Two men behind ‘senseless’ felling of Sycamore Gap tree jailed for more than four years 5 weeks ago:
No motive other than being sad losers who wanted the fake glory of being the one to chop down a beloved tree.

because they have much more land and much less regard for the environmental and cultural history and importance of different areas?
- Comment on MPs narrowly back legalising assisted dying in England and Wales by 23 votes 2 months ago:
Seriously. I’m only in my mid-thirties but I’d sign a document tomorrow if it secured my right to end myself if I’m unable to do basic things like eat, use a toilet and live without restriction.
Ok maybe not tomorrow. But I’d want to do it quick before the inevitable senility kicks in!

- Comment on Over £1 million for towns and cities to clean up chewing gum stains 2 months ago:
Does anyone here throw their chewing gum on the ground? Maybe I’m a bit of a clean-shirt but I either wait until I find a bin or just swallow the gum. I consider throwing gum on the floor the same as littering anything else personally.
- Comment on Over £1 million for towns and cities to clean up chewing gum stains 2 months ago:
It’s a yearly grant, and it’s also used to buy better cleaning equipment so will have a longer-lasting impact. It’s also £1m which is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
- Comment on HIGH ON LIFE 2 Official Trailer 2 months ago:
The studio ditched Roiland as soon as the game was released. He only voiced one gun if I recall (the main one), but wasn’t involved in production or writing at all except for a bit of improv presumably.
He also had no involvement in the dlc and the gun he voiced didn’t feature.
The original game had many other guns with many other voices from other, more famous comedians.
Don’t think there’s as much “drama” here as the internet wants there to be. The studio got a clean break from him as soon as it could, and it seems to be going fine.

So that’s three deals that Starmer has now made with countries/blocs that the Tories promised they’d do and failed to deliver.
Really feels nice having a government that actually wants to govern.

I got banned for reporting a post with the statement “links to nazi platform” (it was a link to X).
I got a message in my inbox about my account being given “a warning”. I was then permanently banned an hour later.
I had like 5 accounts, one of them dating back to 2008. They are now all permanently suspended. Because I offended some loser moderator.

He’s from a rich family and has tried acting, singing and politics to get famous. None of it worked, so he’s resorted to playing the ‘right-wing grifter’ game. A decent base believes he should be able to say anything he wants on twitter without consequence, and that’s the base he’s playing to.
