Yes, it is indeed a very fancy autocomplete, but as much as it feels like it’s is doing reasoning, it is not.
- Comment on Enshittification of ChatGPT 1 week ago:
No, it literally doesn’t understand the question. It just writes what it statistically expects would follow the words in the the sentence expressing the question.
- Comment on Enshittification of ChatGPT 1 week ago:
There’s no point asking it factual questions like these. It doesn’t understand them.
- Comment on CivitAI will start banning some content soon 2 weeks ago:
Not sure that being distributed/federated is necessary. Having the models be redistributable elsewhere probably is
p2p like bittorrent is necessary unless you have a couple of thousands per month to pay for hosting
- Comment on CivitAI will start banning some content soon 2 weeks ago:
The best option here is a torrent system. Each person training a new model/lora would host it themselves, and the most popular would naturally have the most seeds. The problem is that CivitAI has millions in VC-money to spend on a fancy UI for discoverability and API and some randos just doing the same on their own cannot easily compete.

This is the workflow and plugins I used. Try to set this up. You will need to download some custom modules.

Note that it took me 5 minutes per vid on a 4090. On ram expect hours per vid

The first is that he is as close to a free-speech absolutist as it’s possible to find.
Oh really? Try writing “cisgender” on a tweet and see what happens.

This is all very frustrating. We’ve tried many times as the ai horde to get permission to let people host flux dev but we’re just ghosted by black forest labs

- Comment on Prison slavery 5 weeks ago:
Wages existed in feudalism, but we don’t call any system which has money and wages capitalism. For that we need that wage slavery is the primary mode of production.
- Comment on Why is Lemmy only popular in the western World? 1 month ago:
It’s sponsored by a Western company. Resources and support are in English.

- Comment on Prison slavery 1 month ago:
The way they made people work for wages started at the barrel of a gun. “We take your (public) land, now you work in a factory or starve”. All the rest you think are due to Capitalism, is in fact the victories of the working class struggles, which they’ve been trying to dismantle for the past century. If anything the system resets itself to its original form.

Yes, both parties are complicit in the state of things. This is how ejection (don’t) work.
- Comment on The man with a mind-reading chip in his brain, thanks to Elon Musk 1 month ago:
Philanthropy has always been a way for the wealthy to whitewash themselves of the evil that made them wealthy. It’s never designed to actually fix the things they broke and the lives they ruined. Look into it’s history from its start with the robber barons. Look how bill gates is giving millions in philanthropy and yet “somehow” grows still more wealthy and controls immense amounts of agricultural land. It’s another capitalist ploy.
- Comment on The man with a mind-reading chip in his brain, thanks to Elon Musk 1 month ago:
Musks resources could do.
That’s the thing. That’s an oxymoron. One can’t have musks resources and be a good person. To get such resources, one has, by design, to be the kind of person who thrives in Capitalism. Evil.

The most fascinating thing about their extreme “defer to authority” attitute, is the appearance of the “angry american” phenomenon, which is just a japanese-speaking white dude employee, which is literally there to voice the staff grievances to the boss, without anyone japanese having to lose face. Literally the reinvention of the court jester in modern times!
