It is not a black and white, all or nothing issue. You can fight the actual fascist agents while just ignoring the random attention seeking teenagers.
- Comment on Annon punches a Nazi 18 hours ago:
So you think this shit eating loser now doesn’t support ICE, won’t don’t this exact same thing again after seeing the video he filmed get millions of views, and he gets massive support from the MAGA grift complex. This guy could probably make a career off of this event.
And then when other shit sniffing right wingers see that guy make money from it, they’re just going to copy him.
This will only do more harm than good.
- Comment on Annon punches a Nazi 18 hours ago:
This is this is some “so you hate waffles?” type shit.
Actual ice agents that are arresting people? Yes fight them physically tooth and nail, be armed to the teeth whenever they are near.
Some random kid at school being a smug prick to get a reaction for tiktok? No. It does less good than harm.
- Comment on Annon punches a Nazi 1 day ago:
Honestly as much I vehemently support punching fascists, the guy was fishing for a reaction and so got exactly what he wanted.
The only way to deal with these guys that are just trying to get attention is to just look at them disgusted and then ignore them

Yeah man, every single game I’ve got a ton of hours in or thought was a truly great game has been over $16

If your shoes are covered in mud (or full of gravel???) then you take them off. But if you’ve just gone outside to go to the shop and your shoes are still relatively clean, you wipe them on the doormat and go in, the amount of dirt you actually bring in is miniscule.
Then there are rules about not putting shoes on sofas or beds, so if you want to put your feet up you take your shoes off then.

I get that this is Lemmy and users here are a certain way but calling anything over 16 dollars not worth it is genuinely insane.

Eh, I will sometimes make a big batch of sauce and then either keep in the fridge a few days or freeze it. But that’s besides the point. I can still make a pasta Bolognese in about an hour if I’m trying to make a quick but tasty weekday meal, since you don’t actually HAVE to simmer it for hours.
Like to take a beef wellington for example, you can’t really cut corners on it and make one on Wednesday night after work. Even if you were to buy a pre made one, you would still have to roast it for ages.
And even then a lot of Italian cooking is quick, a carbonara for example is super quick and easy to make from scratch, if you just buy the bread instead of making it Bruschetta is super easy, or if I’m feeling super lazy I will sometimes make a frittata with leftovers, that takes like 15 mins to make. In the other hand no one quickly throws together a chicken and leek pie, or make a pasty from scratch, or even something as relatively simple as a roast. The only British food I ever really make for easy meals is a stew because you can make it in a slow cooker, but stew isn’t even a uniquely British dish.

As a child I was forced to eat a lot of Sunday roasts at the grandparents that were bland and anemic and mushy, with veg boiled within an inch of its life, and where the meat was the only good part
And I used to date an Indian lass who was the worst cook I’ve ever met in my life, the food she made was truly disgusting. But that doesn’t mean all Indian food is bad.
I know self-flagelation is a time honoured tradition of hours, but the whole “Britain bad” circlejerk is just getting annoying now.
- Comment on in all fairness italian cuisine is a relatively recent invention 3 weeks ago:
British food is actually top tier. Tye difference with Italian food for example is Italian is quicker and easier to make, so your average person can put together a pasta dish pretty quickly as a weekday evening meal. Whereas youre not going to come home and quickly make a roast dinner or a beef wellington or a proper steak and ale pie, so instead you’ll just bang some fish fingers and chips in the oven and 20 minutes later have some perfectly good scran for while you watch EastEnders.

I think tablets like these are actually extremely common.
I know a guy I spoke to at the British Museum about cuneiform tablets said they literally just have hundreds and hundreds of them in storage and they are most very mundane record keeping.

Nah fuck this attitude, if you ever tried to use Wikipedia for an actual research project you’ll know how dubious those “”“sources”“” can be.
It’s actuslly an exercise one of my TA friends sets for students when they’re just learning to research things properly. She gives them a claim on Wikipedia and and asks them to find the primary source for it. So they end up spending hours following chains of citations, until they are checking out old books from the library to try and find excerpts that some blog post that was cited in a paper that was cited in a newspaper, that was cited in a different blog post that was cited in another news article that was cited by Wikipedia claims exists, just to find out it doesn’t.
But seriously, don’t take Wikipedia seriously unless it cites a primary source directly.

No I understood the point of your comment perfectly, it’s the old “well we can’t complete fix every problem with society magically overnight with 1 action, so we shouldn’t try to do anything” argument. With perhaps a dash of “you want to improve society, yet you participate in society, curious” thrown in as well.
Basically if everyone were to have the same attitude as you literally nothing would ever get better.
- Comment on The Best-Selling Video Games Since 2020 1 month ago:
Idk, I’ve tried to play it at least half a dozen times since it was “fixed” and it still just seems rushed and unfinished, just less buggy now.

Idgaf he’s a bigot, a cow or a racist. If I like x thing that was made, and them being a bigot, cow or racist does not impact the product I’m buying, then I’m buying it.
Congrats on perfectly respresenting the core of what is wrong with modern society.
“If it doesn’t get in the way of my mindless consumerism, I’ll happily support people who are openly racist”
People like you, more so even than the bigots themselves, are why society is turning to shit.
- Comment on Among 2025 games with over 10K reviews, Deltarune is the most highly rated 1 month ago:
In fairness even if a big studio released a great game, enough people would either try it and not like it, or just give a bad review because it’s EA, that it wouldn’t make this list.
Indie games don’t have that problem.
