Before 2016 he was a celebrity people liked him as a no bullshit business owner like the middle class small business owners. As he was exposed to more media and has proven he was more of an idiot it personified him as someone like them. A moron who does what they want with 0 reflection or cares about other people.
- Comment on Can someone give me an overview on the Jill Stein situation? 3 weeks ago:
Don’t feel guilty it depends on where you lived. I voted green party I believe but I live in Delaware and that won’t affect the race outcome at all
- Comment on Why is voting before the deadline in US elections referred to as 'early voting'? 3 weeks ago:
Not every state allows it and if they do it has to be a special reason in most states. So you must live in a lucky state or had an excuse every year
- Comment on Do you actually care about your friend's new baby, vacation abroad or similar life events or are you just being nice? 4 weeks ago:
Hmm. Being interested in what is going on in your friends or loved ones life is a way of caring about a person. Do you like to share any details about your life at all with friends or family? What connects you to these people? Or is it you just don’t care about these parts of others lives?
I wouldn’t call it dishonest it would call it caring for another human being doing things you don’t care for for another person builds closeness, familiarity, and tightens bonds. Knowing or listening to details of other people’s lifes just deepens lore and fills out things that are happening in someone’s life.
You are probably a bit autistic. As you see the world a bit as black and white and don’t understand why you do a thing you dont like. That or you don’t actually care about these other people and you are narcissistic and only using these people. The world is gray.
- Comment on California’s new law forces digital stores to admit you’re just licensing content, not buying it 1 month ago:
Just because you bought something and never picked it up it isn’t the stores fault. If you buy a perpetual license to digital code then never download it then cry when the store stops providing the source or updating it sounds like a you problem. Now a SaaS thing is weird. Like what do i do when I own a license for Helldivers 2 and the service turns off. That is like paying a person a lump sum for a service like trash but it is one person and you expect it to last at least 50 years since that person is young and they die next week. Now you are out the money and the service expecting the service would never end
- Comment on If Bethesda released Skyrim today, they would have made it woke 1 month ago:
Sure. People of that skin about 15 million people for 400 year built this country without being able to reap any rewards for their contributions. Then I took another 80-99 years to give those people equal rights that we still struggle with today. By the time they became equal everything was owned and they were already cast into poverty. Until we see equal outcomes from people of that skin color as the average majority they deserve as much help as we can give them. Honestly they deserve reparations. But instead they only get scholarships until the college population equals that of the racial makeup of this country. Oh yeah they qualify for college just they wouldn’t get accepted because the institution is racist or with out the help the kids will have to potentially put their family at risk with huge loans.

- Comment on Why are people on the internet (and Lemmy) so quick to say someone "deserves to die" 2 months ago:
-
People say whatever on the internet and anonymous areas. Often for shock or the extremist idealism as if something was dead things would be different
-
Your examples. Both of these are extreme differences in people’s views and principles. The logger is killing and ruining someone’s country for profit. Yes the individual guy needs money but he put the principal of doing something wrong aside to make money. The logger could do something else or he doesn’t care. He has no empathy towards future generations or the health of species of animals. Why should someone have empathy for them.
Nazi example is easy while I am sure some people were ignorant or born into being a child of a nazi one should be resisting the horridness if you reap the benefits of your nation’s success at the downfall of others of course they are going to wish you dead. To put you into a perspective of nazi haters why should they get to live a peaceful life or be forgiven or left alone even if they saw the error of their ways or to desperate to fight back when people lost their future and families because of their group.
As for the drug dealer people see the worst that comes out in people as a druggie and blame the person who keeps enabling. If the druggie could be cut off then someone’s life wouldn’t be ruined.
In every example you gave someone was ruining someone else’s life or future. Of course people personally affect by similar circumstances aren’t going to have as much empathy for these people it takes a lot of compassion, self reflection, love, and forgiveness to be able to be kind to someone who hurt you and your family. Not everyone is in that place.
-
Every day or year we have unbalanced people entering huge amounts of hormones causing their feelings to be imbalanced and every a new person is getting hurt leading to a life where kindness is locked off for awhile maybe forever.
-
Our culture is about retribution many people don’t see proper steps to make things right or see people continue to do bad things. The easy solution is having things not exist anymore so you don’t get hurt again. If you trust bad people they may hurt you. Every decision has a consequence and rarely is it fully made whole even in forgiveness. You can’t give someone back their family, you can’t give someone back an extinct species, you can’t give back the world a stable climate. Of course people will hold hatred

- Comment on Why is Kamala Harris being held at such a higher standard than Trump this election? 2 months ago:
Firstly Republicans have their guy so they are just going to pick at any weakness.
Second, all news media has consolidated and is owned by right wing rich fuckers. There is a wealth tax proposal and the ftc is super strong right now. So rich people are being cry babies
Third, there is a genocide happening right now with bullets paid for and made with USAs stamp on it. People are super critical against it
Fourth, left wing people always want better so you got to do something to succeed and if you do something we want you to do better since politician rarely go far enough. All the right wing people need to do to succeed is to obstruct and do nothing.
Fifth, Democrats are courting the middle. With the military policy, fracking, border wall, immigration and the tough on crime rhetoric Kamala sounds like a moderate Republican from 8-10 years ago. Leftists have no choice but to vote Harris or we run the chance of having Trump. While some of may vote third party because Harris doesn’t go far enough if we do that in battle ground states we will be blamed again and we are strongly discouraging that. So the only voter base Kamala can pick up is republican never Trumpers and people in the middle and independents. Kamala’s rhetoric reflects that.
Lastly Kamala is really untested. She has flip flopped and people hate that and hypocrisy. They can’t push Trump nor give him more attention so they push Kamala. She lost her last presidential run really badly dropping out before the primaries. She only had one term as senator in a very safe district to get elected in as a democrat. As an Attorney General she ran 2 elections and only served 1.5 terms. Her district attorney stuff has been her best and most notable thing followed by her AG stint. But DA and AG stuff isn’t the same policy stuff as a politician. As senator she only passed one law having lots of words about other stuff though
- Comment on Gen Z is actually taking sick days, unlike their older coworkers. It’s redefining the workplace 2 months ago:
I don’t get paid sick time I can use my PTO. Would I rather be sick and miserable at work(in which my day already sucks)and be paid and using my rest and relaxation time for something I want or do I use one of my 10 PTO days and cancel my vacation I may have already booked since I only have 10 days off a year 2-3 days I have to use for federal holidays since I don’t get paid off since I am contracted with the bank but my company doesn’t pay me for the holiday.
- Comment on How do people in this day in age become nazis/neonazies sexist or even incels when there is so much knowledge against it? Do they get anything out of being that way? 2 months ago:
This youtube series is a great way to show how someone gets inundated and can turn youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJA_jUddXvY7v0VkYRbANn…
But here is somethings I noticed from my journey out of the right wing from my high school days.
First we were religious and we choose good decisions and other people’s choices were unwise and their fault but even though we lived in the same projects, our choices and how we lived their was unfortunate and their’s was their fault. It wasn’t explicit racism it was culture of racism. We were scared because we didn’t understand and thought we were superior since we were trying. Then we got better off and were in church more we got inundated with right wing propaganda on the economy and Frieman econmics blaming the government and socialism. We wanted to protect our jobs and our jobs blamed the government why they had to end manufacturing jobs in America. I graduated high school in 2010. I saw hatred towards Obama and noticed my side was with the KKK and I questioned it. That is how I got out. But if I kept to my beliefs I would have hated black people and others more. Thinking I was superior as a WASP (White Anglo Saxon protestant) since I made good decisions. My parents told me I could work through college and buy a house and everything and not to take out debt. So I tried that. It was impossible.
I blamed myself for not being good enough but I also didn’t do it right because I was testing it out and not using and abusing my connections. Which is how you get ahead. When I figured out I wasn’t enough and started to work with the people I know I was able to do more. But I could have blamed DEI stuff why I couldn’t get into college or get better jobs. But it was I just wasn’t good enough and the market is barren in Delaware.
My few relationships break ups I could have blamed it all on women and got a negative attitude with that too. Also since I was raised in the church a bit I could have said they should be a trad wife. But bleh
Back to being a Wasp. I could have blamed my failures and society failures on racist things or the color of my skin but I was lucky to realize it was the rich who fucked us all and the governments fault for letting it happen.
- Comment on Why is goverment debt not calculated as a % of tax revenues instead of GDP? 2 months ago:
Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t this sort of the deficit.
Revenue-expenditures is deficit in the simplest terms I understand
In the guide below they don’t use gdp for national deficit but every thing I see for fiscal deficit has gdp. So I guess one is measure of nations economy versus the government budget. A nation’s economy it makes since to use gdp because that is all the money moved by productions so to show the economy of a nation’s is able to produce more than it indebts itself is important fiscaldata.treasury.gov/…/national-deficit/

He paid for 10 orders and wouldn’t tip unless they came on time . Only one person got tipped $20 by not being late. His secret was since he didn’t tip in app people were less motivated then probably he became a shitblist house making his service worse. After 10 orders he got a pizza party free with points.
- Comment on In your career, have you found a drama free workplace? 4 months ago:
You live in a time with a lot of change and not a very cohesive culture time. Politics are getting rough, people have their own communities and echo chambers making it harder to adapt to others.
No drama means you have a good community that is similar and takes care of each other. Right now that is hard to find
- Comment on why isn't anyone calling for Trump to drop out. 4 months ago:
Firstly, foreign nations interfering with our country wants chaos. Trump is chaos but they will latch onto anything to sew discord and craziness.
Second the Republicans don’t care they are voting for Trump period or against democrats period there is little to change their mind. Conservatives don’t have to do something to win they have to hold every one and anything back.
Thirdly, the left is critical thinkers who are trying for better so there is always dissent or people criticizing/arguing the best way to do a thing causing lots of bad will. Doesn’t help we don’t have a left party and have a middle party always trying to court to the right.
Lastly, there is tons of could been better should have done better. Democrats and DnC sucks. They have a bunch of old fogeys holding onto power and their donors want people who won’t change things to much. Doesn’t help the corpos where use to having zero lights shined on them under Trump and they can do whatever. Where as even if most of it was toothless Biden actually did a little bit and said a few things that upset the corps

- Comment on Don't you all get tired of the constant negativity? 5 months ago:
In the real world your bubble is super small and it tends to be pleasant that is because you intake a lot less information and data about what is going on.
The internet and global community has TONS of information that someone focused on their life won’t exactly notice. There is ways even on the internet to surround yourself with just positivity and fun. But the fact of the matter making people feel negative gets more clicks and drives more money.
Take a break enjoy your life. Check in on the internet occasionally.
