- Comment on Why is AOC a big deal? She just speaks common sense and calls out absurdity. Have we really gone that far off the rails where we don't do it ourselves? 11 hours ago:
If you go to a bar and drink to much the bar tender is likely to cut you off, because you are clearly an alcoholic. If you go to a casino, count cards and constantly win, the Casino will kick you out then ban you from ever coming back. If you use exploits in a MMOG, you’ll get banned. (then hopefully the deves patch the exploit)
Notice a pattern?..
Greed is a drug. The stock market is gambling. And Inflation is caused by an infinite money glitch only the uber rich can use. I think I know EXACTLY what needs to be done and you do too, even if you don’t like it.

- Comment on What's going on with Tesseract and why are people upset? 1 day ago:
the funny thing is that the list was populated through an AI dragnet, so many people who were on that list (like myself) not only had never heard of this guy, but never even used that instance of the fediverse. It was based purely on post history and keywords, not personal interactions. That’s why everyone on it was wearing inclusion as kind of “Badge of Honor” because it meant we were the types of people that would tick off a fascist.
- Comment on Why don't politicians during a hearing let the person they are questioning actually answer questions and speak? 1 day ago:
if you start to spew categoric BS they’ll shut you down. Usually they already know the answer, but you are there to say it yourself so it’s on the record.

A, but it would have the average of the two states.

He failed to realize that people who are here aren’t free speech absolutists, we just want to be able to speak our mind without having draconian moderation or Corporate A.I. freaking out because we used some no-no-words like we’re in some kind of internet preschool.

Just adding context. I am on the list, but I don’t use PieFed? so like, ok?
- Comment on Badge of Honor 5 days ago:
what this looks like is a PieFed shadowban. I find this funny as I’m not even using PieFed. I was shopping around for an android mobile app, but I guess that one is off the table now, eh?

TBF, I have a rather high tolerance because I was dropping 4 Zenias every 3 hours just to feel a nice buzz. I had a medical grade brownie once and that was a sweet spot.

we really need to properly decriminalize so we can study these compounds. There was a study using some naturally derived psychotropics done in Brazil some years ago that showed promising benefits in reducing the mechanisms that activate PTSD triggers, for instance, but nothing ever really came of it, because of stigma surrounding the “recreational” uses.
Basically the study found that if you take a psychotropic shortly after the traumatizing event, it disrupts the amygdala’s ability to parse and store the memory in a way that becomes malignant. This makes it FAR easier to process the event through therapy, and outcomes were greatly improved.

Because you got high? (x3)
- Comment on Me this morning 1 week ago:
The dose makes the poison. Weed is not a panacea but it sure as hell isn’t the devil. If you are getting F’d up you need to cut back the dose or switch to edibles; you don’t get as functionally high, but it’s more intense and lasts longer. Also know your weed Indicas are more of a “body high” (Sleepy, pain reduction, relaxation, “vibes”) where as Sativas are more of a “mental high” (mental “buzz,” creativity, giggles, anxiety reduction) get a good hybrid that focuses more on the thing you want to fix. If you are in a funk, a Sativa dominant strain is what you need, if you are burnt out, you need an indica dominant one.

you missed a few lines. “I smoke two joints in the afternoon and it makes me feel alright. I smoke two joint in times of peace, and two in times of war”

I mean, the water does have to come from SOMEWHERE, so strictly speaking that way of looking at it is not wrong, just ignoring a few steps.

a more fun fact is that Livyatan was almost certainly alive at the same time as Megalodon. Given that modern Orcas regularly prey on Great white sharks, a similar dynamic was probably at play in the late Miocene

Not just that, but in his case it might be the real healing he needs. Or he could come out the other side with real viable opinions about the prison industrial complex based on lived experience, which was kind of the draw with him in the first place TBH.

the issue was that he had all the right policies. That’s what stings. As I said, most of us were willing to look the other way for a few transgressions so long as he asserted that he was a different person than he was before. This accusation was just a different beast entirely and couldn’t be downplayed or ignored. Also it really was the last straw.

I do feel you but there’s fighting dirty like them and then there is abandoning our standards. If we abandon our principles than we are no better than they are.

we were willing to believe the narrative that such people could be redeemed. He seemed genuinely to find distaste in his past actions and was openly repentant. That’s what makes this mildly infuriating because this is the bridge too far. He’s spot on on the issues, seemed humble and well spoken. To put a pin in the r4pe allegations for a second, the larger issue is that he CAN get blackout drunk and then do things he can’t even remember. Drunk posting on reddit before the modpocalypse is one thing, but if those things include SA? Yeah, we have to make the hard pass now. There’s a line, man.

Unfortunately this seems 100% credible. Her therapist and another ex boyfriend are both corroborating the allegations. The woman even said she shares his politics. I’m not mad at her bravely coming out with this but the timing is rather suspicious. She should have spoken up a year ago, or at the very least ahead of the primary. There’s a guy we can slide over to, he’s known and vetted in the state (Troy Jackson, who’s a logger by trade), but he has about as much charisma as a grilled cheese sandwich. Also he’s almost retirement age.
