Talk is cheap. You very obviously have never been in that position yet here you are, preaching. Lucky you.

I agree, nobody should struggle, but many do, so your take is essentially wishful thinking all around.

As said, exclude third-world, they have it all bad, not just the social net.
Spain is a third world country now? You are living in an alternate reality.
But again, you absolutely sound like someone who hasn’t struggled in their life. Maybe you need to go hungry to develop some empathy and understanding.

What are you even talking about? In most countries, pretty much nobody can afford to go a full year without a job.
Good for you if you could do so, but shitting on people because they refuse to end up homeless to abide to your moral standards is detestable.

Spoken like someone who hasn’t struggled a minute of their life. Well done.
- Comment on Alcoholic billionaire says he wants to shove a camera up every workers ass. 2 weeks ago:
Because most of the time, workers don’t get to choose.
Suggesting that people can quit a job at any time for moral reasons is the same shit capitalists fling around when they say that “nobody is forcing you to work”. Not wanting to go hungry and homeless are powerful motivators.
- Comment on So Austistici/Inventati just got designated as a "global terrorist organisation" by the Trump administration, what do I do now? 2 weeks ago:
China can’t arrest you in California or Italy.
That’s highly debatable.
Also Chinese services are unlikely to cooperate with the US/EU’s increasingly fascist laws.
True, they have their very own flavour of fascism. I just find it ironic that the proposed solution here is to rely on another fascistic state.

Yeah, go from being US’ bitch to China’s bitch.

Let’s normalize shaming adults who eat like five year olds.

When people talk about the “British” they tend to show their ignorance about the UK
Right, because there weren’t any Welsh or Scottish colonizers.

Lingua Franca is about how many people you could communicate with across boundaries, thus native speakers play a critical role here.
“English is the global lingua Franca” is frankly debatable, given the proficiency requirements in many fields. Proof of it is that translators are still ubiquitous in places of business when it comes to negotiations.

The foundation most of the world is based on is British and it’s easy to miss.
Lol not even close.
Also, there are very specific reasons why the British have bad rep.
- Comment on 1 month ago:
Spaniards do, but only during summer.
- Comment on 1 month ago:
While I get your point, it’s hard to argue that English is the lingua Franca in Europe, since there are more native French speakers than English.

What is with all this bullshit pro-AI slop propaganda I’ve been seeing on Lemmy, lately? Been seeing lots of mfers invade these communities and spread bullshit.
I don’t know about Lemmy specifically, but in my experience, unskilled people who love AI are extremely vocal about it, to the point where some would go as far as to denigrate actually skilled people.
My hypothesis is that AI exacerbates the Dunning Kruger effect.
