No Yelps here, just the public dentist at my local health center, and the only one at that. I can’t afford to go private yay. (Not free, definitely not free this one either.)

With my IRL friends? Most hate AI or dislike it, one uses it sanely and one is vibe-coding. I like having conversations with the two, because I am so damn deep in the AI-loathing pit I need to see other perspective too. My family doesn’t use it, nor have any opinions or knowledge about it.
At work? Boss is absolutely gone with the AI, using it to everything and telling us to use it to everything as well. If we don’t, the boss “helps us by asking for us” and then tell us the, clearly unsafe and wrong, answer. But it’s the boss, I am not going to be the one lecturing the boss. With other coworkers, we don’t discuss the topic much, except there seems to be surprising amount of “LETS ÄÄÄSK STÄTKEEPEETEE”-jokes when the boss isn’t around. So I think most of us is at least cautious or annoyed at AI, but try to avoid the confrontation. Which is fair, we have known the boss for years.

Last time I went to dentist, at first everything was okay and I even got compliments on how clean my mouth was. Then I got stabbed by a needle to a gum and then yelled at for not flossing. Later on the dentist found the stabbing wound she did and apologised, yet kept on telling me to just go deeper with the floss, that there must be a hidden infection deeper down and I should not care about pain or floss cuts. Bad, bad advice.
I didn’t change shit. My gums don’t bleed UNLESS THEY GET STABBED.

Some autists only eat beige food. Same as some non-autists. No real connection, just a cutesy meme making autists look like children.

In my country you gotta sign to get out of that! (Also, if I live so old my memory leaks, don’t know if my organs are any good.)

Lol, not sold in my country but that would be great :D

Once my memory starts to go, I want to be sat down in front of a (cooked) frozen pizza, outside if summer, and once I’m 3/4 done with the pizza, I want someone shoot me in the head from behind. (.22 is enough if not shot “straight”, nothing fancy needed.)
No funeral, just burn me and dumb the remains into the river I grew up next to. Or heck, unmarked grave in the forest is okay too, don’t know how shitty this world turns.

If I only count the people who treated me with respect, cared for my safety and stopped when caused pain, I’d say… one.

I think fewer bands/artists are making even full length albums these days, thematic or not… At least in my country. The one big recording studio also owns the radio channels, tv channels and news sites, so they got the whole package. No point in wasting money doing an album… Singles here and there. It’s changed a lot, the whole culture.

Depends a bit on headphones too! Mine can be turned on while they’re also connected by the aux so the ANC and such can be on, or they can be used off with the aux which still does sound great, but obviously doesn’t actively cancel any noises.
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
Absolutely, there is an psychological factor in this too. I’m listening way more carefully and listening the whole album in one go which is good because I’m enjoying the same tunes a whole lot more. And I agree on both the dedicated players and theatres… My attention span will do it’s tricks unless I keep in a short leash.

With the MP3 yes, there is aux. But on PC it’s the same Bluetooth earphones or soundbar.
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
I didn’t, but I am biased with how much I love my “own” collection.
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
Nope, neither. Actually listening much more quieter and the headset/soundbar is the same. :D
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
Great answer! Thank you. :)
I do know that some of the albums I like have been not even remastered, but remade when the band changed record studios, so the album has been quietly “swapped” from the crunchy original to the clean and safe new version, so yeah, I’m careful when hunting the CDs. So with some bands (/recording studios) that can be huge and tbh, gross, factor too. (I personally prefer the first few albums and ditch the bands once they learn to play with each other…)

Not asshole-y at all, I’m real grateful and learning a lot today! :) I have never really even thought about these things.
I haven’t really listened to my songs in FLAC, but the MP3 already sounds very, very good and it takes such a tiny space, so it could be enough for me. For now…?
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
Thanks to you too! This seems to be a combination of so many factors, but the most important thing is that my tunes are banging. :) I didn’t plan on learning this much today hah!

Very good add, thank you! And possibly an idea for my next PC build…

Yeah, I was suspecting some “normalization” trickery from the streaming services… I absolutely wouldn’t have noticed this if I had just continued using them.
Nice to know other couples spend quality time the same way we do! :)
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
… Welp, that’s a whole lot more! Thanks for this correction!
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
I am absolutely listening more carefully for the whole album, and the collection is very carefully hand-picked so I have tunes for all weathers… While streaming I would just put on something, maybe change into whole another genre in the middle of listening to another album. This does make me more appreciative for what I happen to be listening to, as I only have a limited number or albums… You’re probably right!
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
Very possible, very possible… Thanks for your input!
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
Oh, alright! Makes sense.
I “chose” MP3 because I had my old MP3 Walkman around and wanted to quickly test if I could have a few songs on that stick. Then the test grew into a bigger project and now I’m here with a about 20 hours of MP3 form music. So no real reason, just a quick, thoughtless decision while goofing around. :D
- Comment on Why do I think music sounds better on my old MP3 player? 2 weeks ago:
Of course, but shouldn’t transferring them into MP3 form still hurt the quality? It’s such a tiny format. Apparently not that much.
