John Conway and CM Koseman did modern animals drawn like dinosaur illustrations. I can’t find the original posts but here’s a buzzfeed article with a good assortment, including a reptilian rendition of a cat.

Wild turkeys teach their young, through demonstration, how to forage, and avoid dangers. For a domesticated turkey poult the human takes the role of the parent & teacher. To top it off the wild turkey hasn’t lost its instincts through selective breeding like the domesticated turkey.

Never had a bird beg, but they do seem attracted by the sounds of filling the feeder.

Right, the genre predates GoT, the argument at the time was that the show may have contributed to the 178% increase in views from 2014 to 2015 , bringing the genre mainstream.

I remember a VICE article from a decade ago picked up the trend and some people on neogaf attributed the sudden rise in popularity to the Lannisters in GoT. It made sense back then since the show and the spike in viewership for the genre both happened around the same time.

We had robins in late January this year, when they typically don’t arrive until mid March. Since the ground was still frozen they had to live off of the shrivelled buckthorn and honeysuckle berries from last autumn.

Not all european games are eurojank and there are noneuropean games that feel like eurojank but that doesn’t invalidate the term eurojank. Its useful to have terms to describe a quality or vibe of games outside of gameplay or genre.

All school buses these days have black out windows, like the one in the OP. Wild shit happened before the tint, like kids getting into literal fist fights when two buses stopped side by side at a red light.

Was surprised by how old that footage was, and saddened to learn that Fatso passed away long before his fame as a meme.

You just reinvented the midwestern “uff da”. It sounds almost the same and can be used the same way.

To your second point you might find some explanations in film studies. The rise of viscerally violent zombie/horror movies of the 2000s has been widely discussed. Its typically attributed to: political instability (911/war on terror); fear of diseases (2002 SARS/1999 west nile virus); natural disasters (Huricane Katrina 2005/climate change); and economic crisis (dotcom bubble 2000/2007 economic recession). Essentially widespread fears and anxieties shape our media and I think (some) video games being darker, grittier, and more violent in that time period reflect this.

To each their own I suppose. Personally I’ve only met women that liked points 2 through 4. Is worrying about her getting enough sleep or eating well considered dominant?
