But I’m not a consumer, I’m a poor human being trying to survive in the modern world.
When the only options available to you are a douche and a turd sandwich, why would it be my fault for having those two options? Sure, I could get a better job, or perhaps, work more! Then I could afford to buy the non-parasitic vegetables that currently are only available to me through the salad on a McChicken sandwich.
Sry for the spiel, I know you’re talking about gaming and it is definitely not the same. I still wouldn’t go ahead and blame the victim on that.

Thanks for the hollar! I checked it out and it reminded a of a long-lost website called videoeta.com. It basically listed the planned dvd/br releases for any upcoming movies.
I think I like rawg. I just learned there’s a new God of War in the pipes! I’m guessing rawg isn’t a distributor, but that wasn’t clear, even though you clearly mention it above that section. I think the same scoring method sent me for a trip (no shade, just thought I’d give my 2 cents).

Haha, me and my reading skills! Yeah, I lemmy from my phone only, got it as a replacement for reddit. I’m happy to see itch.io getting some respect.

Dang, awesome list!!
You made me want to check out rawg.io, but it’s throwing a cloudfare error 😅!
I like how you break out the point categories, but I don’t understand what you were doing with the stars (they seem to appear randomly).

Isn’t that how all good charts start out? One opinionated person makes a list of what makes sense to them and maybe attaches a methodology for how they arrived at the order or points.
In my book, GOG would be 10, but I have never purchased a game through them, so it seems they’re not perfect after all. I wanna give steam less points cuz they are only dealing in licenses, so besides Gabe & SteamOS, they feel no better than Epic.
So maybe Steam is a 7 for me, and GOG is only ideally a 10, but in reality I paid them as much as I have Epic ($0).

Where’s GOG on that chart? How would you compare it to Steam?

You might have a chance with ryzen master.
I don’t know if your cpu has this option unlocked, but you can tinker with the tdp to give the little ryzen that could some more power. Probably a great way to fry your machine and leave you without.
I did tinker with the linux alternative and it didn’t feel faster (or hotter), so your miles may vary from 0 to holy shit I don’t have a working laptop with a tiny sliver of it being able to boost more maybe? Oh, and if it does work, you will need some special cooling solution.

Not totally, I have to say. There are still boxers out on the shelf masquerading as briefs. They have longer pantlegs like the boxers, but also the tighty whitey pouch. Needless to say they do nothing for support. Always gotta dislodge manually on stickier days.

When I hear drunk Finnish as a Hungarian, my brain goes into overdrive to try to decode it. I swear that if I were drunk enough, I could understand it. I do not understand one squeek of sober Finnish though.

I don’t feel like it’s new users not knowing etiquette that’s the problem. I think it’s corporate greed and enshittification.
The internet has been dumbed down to a handful of high-traffic sites, and those are trying to make a buck of us. You ran a server/website for your own benefit, not to make a dollar. It’s corpo greed, I tell ya…

Sorry, not really. I could only point you towards my wayward comment mentioning Weber and Dürkheim.
Sociology really wouldn’t be a bad place to start, you can see how the words are derived from the same base. I don’t know any modern thinkers, I flunked out pretty early from that uni.
If you try the inward out method (by observing social transactions, peer pressures), you would still be well off to pick up some literature, so you can get some framing for it.

Sorry if came through as judgy in my first comment. What territory of sociology interests you? Why do you want to learn more on the topic?
In the school where I was taught, one of the major directions was statistics. Harm reduction and drug policy also go under the umbrella. I really enjoyed the idea of mental maps, but that might’ve been the cultural anthropology class (which kinda bleeds over into the subject).

Easy way? What do you mean by that? Sociology doesn’t even have a basic axiom, it’s such an elusive thing.
Either be attentive and critical to the social constructs that surround you (if possible, it’s really hard to just observe, because many things we thing are natural, like inhereting your father’s name, not your mother’s), or start reading Max Weber, Karl Marx & Emile Dürkheim’s writings to get started.
