A secret underground space program!

In fairness, at some point we all have to learn the hard way that no amount of evidence will convince some people to change their mind about their deeply held beliefs.

I like my moons like I like my plans: in concept form only.

Of course it is accurate—the baby just opens the door at the front of the demon and steps out, easy-peasy!
(Honestly, the hard part is getting the baby back in afterward!)

If only there were a community dedicated to political memes where people could post this kind of thing… maybe a community named something like !politicalmemes@lemmy.world ?
- Comment on A modest proposal 2 weeks ago:
Is this community no longer going to be about posting shitposts? Because if I want political posts then I can get that from the many politics communities that already exist, or by reading newspapers.
- Comment on [deleted] 2 weeks ago:
If this community is just going to be about blatantly political posts from now on rather than shitposts, then I don’t really have a need to be subscribed to it since I can already get that from the politics communities that already exist, on top of reading newspapers.
- Comment on ..? 2 weeks ago:
Just to be clear, are you calling for all communities to become politics communities, so that there are no spaces about anything else?
- Comment on ..? 2 weeks ago:
Lovely rhetoric there, but I regularly read newspapers, so I am “avoiding” nothing. It is just nice to have spaces which are about something other than politics.
- Comment on ..? 2 weeks ago:
All communities become politics communities over time…

Wooly mammoths have never been known for their ability to find things at the best of times (in the modern era, at least), but in this case the task is particularly hard because all of the popcorn is behind them so they cannot see it!

Yeah, nothing is worse than when I am listening a song and the sound of a Siren forces me to jump into the nearest body of water.

Exactly, which is why critical race theory is so critical!

Agreed, I find nothing worse than when the person I love is eager to share something they care about with me!
- Comment on Stereotyping is wrong. 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, I once talked with a woman who spent several decades being married to a guy who was physically and emotionally abusive to her, but made it clear that she would never leave him because she had promised to stay with him for live at her wedding, but it was okay because things would be better in heaven for her anyway, but not so good for him.
It made me really sad…

The Steam deck is pretty cool because it is just a really nice handheld PC that lets me (or, more typically, my wife) play everything in my very extensive Steam library.

Wait… why is he complaining about the “woke gay agenda” when the top app in that list is Grindr?

It makes me sad that we have reached a point where the very randomness that makes these kinds of stories charming (to someone with a twisted sense of humor like myself) also make them less likely to be coming from a human instead of more.
- Comment on Why does most American's give shit to the French when if not for them we would have lost the revolution? 5 weeks ago:
In addition, they gave us the Statue of Liberty.
A French politician actually called for it to be returned—to be clear, it was just a single politician, not the whole government—and the Trump administration said (very heavily paraphrasing), “No, it’s ours, and also you suck for being invaded by Germany, so we deserve it more than you.” However, I personally find it ironic that the administration is so attached to it, given the famous poem inscribed on its base that is inseparable from the signifiance of the statue:
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
