How can you have a problem with Cowbee? They are the most well-read and patient poster that I see on Lemmy. I can understand disagreeing, but saying Cowbee is “pushing shit” isn’t accurate.
- Comment on What movies have you watched this week? 1 week ago:
The Wind that Shakes the Barley.
- Comment on Should visitors to a country (tourist / visa-holders / people staying temporarily) have the right to criticize the government? When should an immigrant have the right to criticize the government? 1 week ago:
Right wingers don’t stop with immigrants. “Love it or leave it” applies to everyone as far as they’re concerned.
- Comment on Is there a name for when stupid people accuse you of their faults? Is that projection? 1 month ago:
Projection, or machiavellianism.

GW Bush killed a million people and the media treats him like a sweet grandpa.

It’s wasn’t the scream, it was the concerted gas lighting from the media that sunk Dean. It could have been anything. The establishment didn’t want him, so they manufactured a reason to end his campaign.
- Comment on I feel my life is empty. Is there any way to stop this? 1 month ago:
Just engage. Make sure you are fully committed to not being a creep, and play your part. Lots of youngsters want and need older role-models/mentors/whatever. As long as you are clear with maintaining and signaling your boundaries, it can be a really positive experience for everyone.

We’re all mad at each other.

They would all redo it the same way if only they could avoid the camps personally.

Once China has obsoleted Taiwan’s chip dominance, the US will stop arming Taiwan.
- Comment on What we all want deep down 2 months ago:
People play the lottery as a fantasy of escaping their financial circumstances. People have debt and demanding jobs.

- Comment on What do you think of anarchism? 2 months ago:
Yes I know anarchists. I organize with them in real life.
- Comment on What do you think of anarchism? 2 months ago:
Lots of money? Do you actually know any anarchists? Living in communal squat houses and dumpster diving for food is the lifestyle that comes to mind for me.
- Comment on Why do some laws exist if everyone is expected to just break them? 2 months ago:
It’s so the police always have something they can stop you for.
- Comment on Should I avoid communities on lemmy.ml? 2 months ago:
A variation of this post pops up with ridiculous frequency on Lemmy.world. Just go find out for yourself what people are like on those other instances, instead of asking for 3rd party opinions here.

I guess that’s the idea. I’m just saying it’s normal for most people not to need lifelong advanced math skills. It’s also normal for people to not like or be good at math. I really found geometry to be intuitive, but algebra was opaque.

I don’t remember very much of “Of Mice and Men”, and I don’t remember very much of the math I learned in school either. I’m not mad about having learned/read that stuff, but I also don’t feel bad about not remembering/using it since.

- Comment on Is there anything Lemmy has more/better content for than Reddit and other mainstream sites? 4 months ago:
Plenty of people don’t like it, and plenty of them block it all out… but love it or hate it there is a lot of communist and anarchist discussion here. I was on Reddit for a long time and never found so many people interested in leftist discourse so far outside of the liberal mainstream.
- Comment on Imperialism, authoritarianism and oppression is bad all around m'kay 4 months ago:
It’s funny, but not surprising how much you’re down voted here. The meme is heavily upvoted for equating (presumably US) imperialism and (presumably Chinese) authoritarianism. But give an example of how much worse the US is, and people who pretend to hate imperialism fall over themselves to defend the US.
- Comment on Imperialism, authoritarianism and oppression is bad all around m'kay 4 months ago:
Be sure to consider that the past examples of US imperialism were widely supported by Americans just like you. In hindsight, we can often see more clearly since we aren’t immersed in the contemporary propaganda.
