He got a well-deserved debeating.

For real. I’ve done some cave diving. I don’t regret it, because there is legit some cool shit that you couldn’t otherwise see. That said, there are caves I would dive again, and some I wouldn’t. You really just have to suppress the fact that you can’t swim straight up to the surface.

He should definitely go play in the street.

Right on, but I just can’t relate.

I don’t understand how you consider one action a betrayal of trust and not the other. Is your friendship also not over the instant your friend decides to sleep with your partner? I guess you have different kinds of friendships than I do.
- Comment on why is it never the 'close friend' who gets shit on? 2 weeks ago:
I don’t understand this at all. If my partner cheats with a stranger, then sure-- all the blame is on my partner. The stranger doesn’t know me. But a friend? They are betraying the relationship between us just as my partner is. My expectations for a friend would be more along the lines of “hey man, you really ought to know that your partner tried to fuck me”, rather than “btw bro, I got it off with your partner” (high-five??).

Aren’t your friends expected to avoid hurting you also?
- Comment on Just give me someone to vote for who is normal 2 weeks ago:
Corrupt billionaires is redundant. You cannot have billionaires without a corrupting influence on government. Even if there were such a thing as a “good billionaire”, it wouldn’t justify the risks posed by all the bad ones.

The post above this in my feed is about how he rejects germ theory, so why the hell does he care about pharmaceutical drugs? If all diseases are caused by diet and “imbalances” why would we need any drugs?
- Comment on Why is the US so into Israel? 1 month ago:
It’s about economic and strategic interests for the US. These have held true for decades, across all kinds of US admininstrations, and predates any real evangelical fervor. The US is guaranteed Israeli support, since Israel depends entirely on the US for its existence. In the spirit of “the purpose of a system is what it does”, I don’t believe that the US ever disapproves of the horrors Israel commits. The US could exercise power whenever it wants, but it rarely if ever does. Of course, Israel has its own interests, but they rarely contradict US goals in the region.

“It’s socialism or barbarism!”. It’s because there hasn’t been any other convincing arguments otherwise. If you give the capitalists an inch, they’ll eventually take it all. You cannot allow capital to accumulate to the degree that it wields real political power.
