That’s correct. Me neither.

Which continent would central american countries then belong to?

I just realised that, so my comment makes no sense.

- Comment on What is the Israel thing going on? 1 year ago:
Pretty good summary, but I would object, that “Hamas” is something like a “government” in Gaza. It’s a terrorist group that took control of the Gaza territory and it’s people without ever having been elected by someone (in fact, they are suppressing any kind of election since they took over the power from the Palestinian authorities). They are also using the Gaza population as “living shields” against counter strikes to their terror attacks. Nowadays they also have international hostages, which would make a counter-offensive even more difficult.
A possible - although very unlikely - solution to the conflict could be a de-radicaiisation on both sides and the Palestinians finally overthrowing the Hamas-regime and any other terrorist groups, because those are not fighting for Palestinian freedom, but for some crappy “Jihad” ideas and the destruction of Israel.
Unfortunately this will never happen…
- Comment on What is the Israel thing going on? 1 year ago:
Having said that, the Palestine territory was not chosen arbitrarily, but probably because of the significance Jerusalem has to the Jews, where their ancient kingdom and temple had been.

I guess they are currently at step 2 or 3…

It’s like thinking about marrying your ex-wife again, just after you went through an awful divorce, that took years to get accomplished, which you had insisted in. It would make you look somewhat stupid and the question is whether your ex-wife would let you move back in to your former house (i.e. the EU). Who knows…
You wanted it, you got it, now live with it!
- Comment on I don't understand the whole Twitter/Mastodon social media format 1 year ago:
If you want something similar to Reddit you should try Lemmy. Otherwise Mastodon is (pretty much like Twitter) a fire (shout) and forget principle. Sometimes there are conversations going on, where you can engage in, if you like.

It worked on me… 😉 Anyway, I am quite happy here in Lemmyworld and this one also does not defederate that much. It’s possible that Beehaw is the little happy island for the people there, and I wish them to remain happy, but I prefer an instance with less rules and less defederation.
- Comment on Pick your Lemmy instance wisely... 1 year ago:
Their philosophy and rules were a bit of TL;DR for me…
- Comment on why isn't the use of the bidet more widespread? 1 year ago:
I gave it another thought, and if they really believe that if anything touching their anus would make them gay, then it should also remain untouched by a turd, and they should stop defecating to prevent themselves from becoming gay. Life will be sacred then - and short…

There had been some downtimes, apparently due to DDoS attacks, but since then everything is fine. Actually I am not a fan of such elitarian approaches, with a hand-picked user base and too strict moderation. I am actually quite happy on Lemmyworld and was curious what would make Beehaw so special. But I’ll keep Lemm.ee in my mind as a possible alternative.

Really? No shit??

Why would I want to join “Beehaw”? Is it any better than Lemmyworld?
- Comment on why isn't the use of the bidet more widespread? 1 year ago:
It’s separate, next to the toilet. When I was a child, I always thought that this is a special kind of toilet, but I couldn’t figure out for what kind of use (I never used it, though). It was my parents’ summer house and they probably built it in, because it was a trend or requirement at that time.
- Comment on why isn't the use of the bidet more widespread? 1 year ago:
We’ve had one in my parents house for the past 30 years and as far as I remember, no one ever used it. Usually it’s used to store dirty laundry before washing. Maybe I should give it a try…

Seems like they are pushing their Edge browser over the edge… - in our company (also totally reliant on MS365), Edge sets itself as default browser after every reboot, no matter what you said before (we also have Firefox ESR as an alternative browser).
Every link clicked in Teams is processed in Edge via some kind of “safe links” checking. They probably sell it as advanced security, but it makes you feel like a five year old, as if you wouldn’t know what you are clicking on…

What is this? A battle about how stupid a question / choice can get? Sounds like 5th grade schoolyard fun. Anyway, I take the chainsaw…
